Illusion Restaurant is one of the latest series of new restaurants to open in Damascus over the past six months. You find no illusion with this new restaurant, which is destined to be a great success!!You find this restaurant on the mezzanine floor of the Cham Palace Hotel and it is under a separate management team.We ate there with 30 friends at their âsoft openingâ and it was a real treat as we received a sampling of every appetizer listed on their new menu!! What stood out amount the many were there: small dish Lasagna; cheese bread and all of the salads.They had a limited number of Pasta Entrees so the majority of our group enjoyed either a steak or fish entrée. These were goo with the exception of many of the steaks being under cooked.Again the deserts were a sampling of the menu. All were exceptional!!The service was spot on even considering the restaurant was full!! What was very nice is to see the new owner/manager actively taking orders and helping out!!By the time you read this review I trust the restaurant will be servicing their full menu thus making it more of an Italian Delight!

Luigiâs Pizzeria is located at the Damascus Sheraton Hotel and is strictly an outdoor Summer Seasonal Restaurant. It does serve a very nice pizza and what I really liked is that within the menu you can design your own personal pizza and simply hand the waiter your order and in a short time your pizza arrives piping hot!The service was very fast and professional and the outdoor seating confortable. I do recommend you make reservations in advance as after nine to nine thirty the Pizzeria fills up. We found their prices to be a bit on the high side, but yet the evening was enjoyable. Finally, I am not sure how long they continue to stay open as it is definitely dependent on the weather in Damascus. Again it is always best to call in advanceâ¦

A very nice restaurant in Damascus is called the La Moda for solid Italian food.The La Moda Italian Restaurant is located on the second floor of the Massa Plaza Mall in the West Malki District of Damascus.This has a modern and pleasing atmosphere and you have the choice of dining either on the Outdoor Terrace, covered in the Winter months or the Indoor Dining Room.The menu is good and offers a nice, but limited selection of appetizers and a wide selection of Pizzaâs. The food is quite good and is delivered to your table in a very fast and expeditious manner. Their deserts are very good and have a special flair in their presentation.The service is very fast and the restaurant manager was always looking after all their guest and assisting the waiters on each table. The prices are in line with the majority of sit down restaurant operating in Damascus today.They have added a new Sushi Menu, so next time I will try that special dish.For a nice change in your Italian restaurant selection I highly recommend a nice lunch or dinner at the La Moda Italian Restaurant.
