Find out what International restaurants to try in Quito. With a rich pre-Colombian history, Ecuador's capital was founded on the ruins of an Incan city but offers everything a modern traveler might need. It remains the least-altered historic center in Latin America and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Quito’s important sites include baroque gems like San Francisco and Santo Domingo monasteries, as well as La Compañía church and college. This huge city sprawls across a breathtaking Andean valley surrounded by volcanic peaks.

We did the Quito bus tour and hopped off at the Panecillo. We were hungry and decided to try this place for lunch. We were so glad we did. The view is amazing and the food is excellent. It has the Ecuadorian foods you want to try, well prepared and presented. We had the sample platter, ceviche, and locro. They were all excellent and the service was great. They speak English well and were great with answering questions and giving recommendations. If you start the bus tour in the morning this is the best place to stop for lunch. After lunch we walked up toured the Panecillo and then got on the next bus that passed by.

Great service as was all service in Ecuador: efficient, polite, attentive and accommodating. The location and view is spectacular, overlooking a grassed over crater. So beautiful. A very special place.

We had an excellent meal here. The canelazo, a popular Ecuadorean drink, was really good. We had a fish dinner and potato cheese soup with avocado, both of which were terrific. Even better is the view! This is a wonderful place to get a view of the old town, the new areas and the mountains. Highly recommended!

I remeber I used to love this place and it was my favorite Italian restaurant by far. However, the last time I went there after several months and I ordered pizzas, I don't know what happened, but I didn't like it at all. The pizza somehow was tasteless, and it had few toppings. This was the first time I visited the Mall el Jardin restaurant. Not sure if ti was that or the rumours are true, and this place has decreased it's quality.lguerrero54First thank you for your comment and visit. It catches our attention to receive a complaint about our pizzas. Anyway, we take the suggestions very seriously and will proceed as in the whole structure to review what happened. Our quality remains the same or better than in 2004, when we started. We appreciate and hope you visit us at another opportunity.

I have been two times to this charming place, which has in its menu Ecuadorian, Belgian and French dishes, all of them down to earth, and 100% unpretentiuos. Both times I had a very good impression. My Filet Bernaise was impeccable, garnished with sauté veggies, maybe the freshest I ever had in Quito.Their Ratatouille was very generous, it is served not as an entrée, but as a main course. I wouldn´t put my hands on fire for it, but it was honest and unexpensive. The service is also agreable, to say the least. The place has personality, the ambience is warm, not only because of the chimney, but also thanks to its decoration. It´s never full, but I believe, in the case of this restaurant, it is rather a plus. The corner on which it is located is a charming a quiet place right in La Mariscal neighborhood. They serve full menus for lunch at very reasonable prices, but haven´t tried yet.I´m certainly looking forward to going back.

It reminded me of a restaurant from my youth on Long Island.

Everyone mentions how great Zazu is when in town. We had three courses. The bar is nice and drinks tasty but tonight we sat there for 45 minutes waiting for our 6:30 first seating reservation. We were told they open at 7 and also had a one off issue with staff which is fine but why book us 1/2 hour before dinner begins? Corn soup is great. Mushroom soup is tasty but not deserving its $14 tag. Pork taquitos were Great! Wife felt the Andean grains were ok but I felt it was a weak serving of corn. Grouper grilledperfect but lacked any wonderful seasoning and left unfinished. Filet mignon-one of my two pieces was perfect the other a bit chewy both MR and cooked nicely but lacked a good crust or tasty seasoning. We averaged out our experience and at $122 I'm going with Ok. I've had better steaks and fish and soups. Just two peoples opinions based on travel thru Europe and Peru.
