Pizza zum Mitnehmen! Schneller Service, freundliches Personal. Die Pizza lieà etwas zu wünschen übrig, der Käse war nicht besonders gut. Qualität im Lokal scheint besser zu sein.

Wir waren an Ostern mit 8 Personen hier zum Essen. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 12.30 Uhr reserviert und waren pünktlich da. Die Bedienung war freundlich, allerdings wurde bereits bei unseren Getränken einiges (Gläser, Wasser) vergessen und musste nachgefragt werden. Am meisten gestört hat uns allerdings, dass wir auf unsere Hauptgerichte fast 1 1/2 Stunden warten mussten. Die meisten von uns hatten keine Vorspeise, so dass wir in der Zwischenzeit wirklich hungrig waren. Da alle Tische reserviert waren, musste die Wirtin wissen, mit wie vielen Gästen sie zu rechnen hatte. Sie konnte also nicht vom plötzlichen Andrang überrascht worden sein.Das Essen war dann ok, allerdings nichts Besonderes.Möglicherweise ist in der Küche etwas schief gelaufen, da hätten wir sicherlich Verständnis gehabt, wenn wir darüber informiert worden wären, allerdings gab es für diese extrem lange Wartezeit weder eine Erklärung noch eine Entschuldigung der Wirtin.Wir werden das Lokal für unserer Familienfeiern nicht mehr besuchen, da wir uns sehr geärgert haben.

We decided to sample the delights of this well known restaurant. The five of us had a great night. Started in the heavily wood panelled bar area for a heart starter and then adjourned to dine. Service was OK (typical German!); the food was better.Recommended place to go for a more up-market dining experience.Dear RogTrish,thank you for your positive recommandation. The Wintergarten is a lovely restaurant with an endearing atmosphere. The menu is very limited (not a bad thing). We chose the evening special, white asparagus with veal, which was delicious. The bottle of local chardonnay went well with the dish. The service was excellent.Dear valued guest,I do really thank you for your positive comments and for visiting the Wintergarten restaurant. This restaurant apparently appeals to groups and hence can be noisy. But the food is serious good and the service matches it. We had a Shrimp Salad with 4 jumbo shrimp, Wienerschnitzel perfectly match with lingonberry sauce and horseradish potato salad, and a chocolate souffle with strawberry gelato, all exceptionally prepared and presented. If you are not in a group, possibly the back rooms are quieter and you can enjoy the culinary excellence even more.

The Villa Lina is mainly a venue that you can rent for an event such as a wedding or party. However it also has some events that they organise themselves, such as live music nights when a superb meal is also offered. I have now been to two of these and both were great. The meals and wines were excellent and the music and atmosphere were equally good. You need to book in advance for these events. They are advertised on the Villa Lina website and many are already selling out, so if you are in the area its worth checking to see if one is coming up. These events are in the "more formal dining" category, whereas the next two that they offer would be in the "casual, sit-down service" category. They also have some occasional meals that anyone can turn up for. I went to one recently which involved a barbeque and home smoked meat, where the cooking was done outdoors in the grounds and guests could either sit indoors or outside. And I also visited their stall at the BahnFest in Bad Heerenalb. Every time the food has been excellent and good value, and the service friendly and welcoming. This place is a fantastic recent addition to Bad Herrenalb and looks set to be a huge success.
