We have had a couple of occasions eating here. Always had good impression. During summer the place is quite busy but they try to do their best. Overally the a la carte is long and maybe not all courses are 100 % perfect but if you go for a steak you can not make a mistake :)

This is the third or fourth time we have visited The Torony and it has always impressed. From the warmth of the welcome to the fantastic, freshly prepared food it is always a great meal. The menus are presented in multi languages and you have the option to eat inside or outside (covered)But best of all has to be the prices, a meal for 4, starters, mains and drinks about £70If you are in Fonyod, The Torony is definitely worth a visit

I have been at least 50 times at this restaurant . Very good food, looks very nice. It could reach almost a Michelin star, which is rare here around Keszthely. Very nice staff. Small card, with a lot of changes. You wonât find Wiener schnitzel on the menu card Especially the deserts are fantastic and the â rakott krumpli â. Sebastian
South side of Lake Balaton is only catching up in term of gastronomy and it's still difficult to find casual restaurants with high quality food.My Kitchen (A Konyhám) is located at a beach, among other beach food "restaurants" but stands out with it's menu and quality of food (and higher prices).Menu is not long but not short either, you've got a couple of main dishes+burgers and a few soups/dessert with interesting choices but not heute cuisine. I say it's spot on for the location and potential audience. We tried the pork neck confit with potatoes/onion and a real nice jus and the breaded cheese (local, fresh cheese) with apricot jam and salad. Both of them were prepared perfect but had to wait 40 mins which I found too much. Service was okay but not really friendly hence the -1 star.Considering what it is, a small beach food joint and that you don't have many choices around the area I'd return to try other dishes and hope for quicker service.Overall, I can recommend the place and hope they can stir up the 50 year old communist tradition of serving sh*tty food at Balaton.
We jumped in without reservation. I liked the concept of managing a bistro like this. Many traditional food in bistro style. We got worried as they served only low quality wines but just this day they started to serve wine from the Konyári winery. Simple environment, worth to try.
We went here for a family supper. Traditional Hungarian fare of the schnitzel plus trimmings variety. The menu is in Hungarian, German and English and the dishes were arranged into starters, dishes with chicken, dishes with pork and those with fish. There was quite a choice but nothing jumped out at me as sounding especially appetizing. When the food came it tasted a lot better than I expected - I think it was a kind of pork wienerschnitzel with garlic, red onions and sour cream on sliced fried potatoes. Good that I had a big appetite as it was huge. The house white wine that came by the litre in a caraffe was good value and more than drinkable. The service was very friendly and our waitress took special care over the kids. We sat in a kind of barn set a bit back from the road which is pretty noisy but it was fine and not too cool as the night wore on. All in all a very relaxed and pleasant evening with hearty food and at around 1500 Ft per dish pretty good value.

Family owned restaurant open for business since 1991. Friendly atmosphere with an excellent choice of traditional Hungarian meals. Heartly welcome to our Vineyard Restaurant. Open: from end april unit end september Breakfast: 8:30-10:30 Kitchen:12:00-21:0
We ate at the restaurant at the 2nd of august 2015. Service was poor (practically non-existent; we had to clean the table ourselves as well as list our own orders) and food was hardly edible. A beef stew was served cold and, after returning it to the kitchen merely microwaved before being served again, on the same plate. "Grilled" vegetables were still half raw. None of the dishes were served simultaneously. Goose and chicken were leathery. Cheese sauce didn't seem to contain cheese. Entree was served after main courses. In conclusion: food nor service was acceptable. NOT AT ALL the nice, romantic place we were expecting. Frankly, it seems more than likely that the restaurant wrote previous reviews themselves. 0/10 would not recommend.

Our expectation as family was high after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, but what a disappointing experience it was to visit the restaurant. We waited 25 minutes for the drink, and further 45 minutes for the food, only because we pointed out for the waiter that we have waited for a long time. The food was below average, and my beef was rare. My sons fresh fries was not even done. We were sited outside in the garden, and as a family I don't understand why they are placing smokers and non smokers all around in the garden, so every where you sit, you are poisoned by other guests bad habit. Common we are in 2016. Wake up, and implement some modern and family friendly environment, even outside. I much more prefer to go a bit further down the street to Roszakert and get better food, and much better service.
