Red Snapper is an up market restaurant with live entertainment ( duo on vocals and guitar) with a âhappy hourâ (2 for1 drinks) and nice decor. On the evening we were the only people in the restaurant as we decided to eat relatively early so the service was impressive. The menu is split between Italian and Thai dishes and we opted for satay chicken to start (served spectacularly in a vertical presentation with satay side) which was delicious then a Pad Thai for me and chicken fried rice for my wife. Washed down with Singha beer and cocktails this was a great way to ease the tensions of night market shopping in Chaweng! Pretty interior, attentive service, great good portion fair priced Beef Carpaccio with Pesto and Parmesan...a bit of sweet balsamic emulsion would enhance the flavours, good bread and green salad, salad dressing a little bit bold. Great Beef Filet Steak at least 280 Grams, top blue cheese sauce, green peppercornsauce for me too salty and without a demiglace base...not good. Mashed potatoes with olive oil and parsley served in a small pot..kept it hot until the end of the meal. Great idea. Would love to have truffles with mashed potatoes one day. French fries prepared with not hot enough temperature oil, not crispy and too oily...also an oily smell...even after second preparation. You need different technology to prepare french fries. In the Bandara Resort, they are fantastic. Open wines okay, Whites and Roses could have more body. Price for the Beef Filet with 2 sides and 1 sauce 490 Baht. A very fair price! Imported high quality! Forget the ripoff in Fishermans village of those 'specialised steakhouses'! 3!!! times the price of Cote de Boef...Thank you so much for this revue, and all the details. Donât be put off by the main road location, there is easy parking at the side and once inside youâll be absorbed by the amazing cuisine & fabulous service. Thereâs something for everyone with Local & International menu choices. Then comes the good news, the bill....itâs tiny! Very reasonably price for an excellent dining experience.

Lovely home made pasta, nice atmosphere, linen serviettes, quality surrounding s. This was a bit of decadence as I felt like Italian for dinner. 5 star restaurant quality meal, more than I'd usually spend but a bargain compared to western prices. Greeted at the entrance by a lovely Italian man, great service. I order the ravioli - 4 big pieces. I'd like to try everything on the menu!

Just had dinner here on our last night in Samui. We ordered the beef massaman, crispy sea bass with mango salad, and seafood coconut custard (a savoury dish).It's an extraordinary venue, great atmosphere with reasonable food prices for the location. Many others on this stretch of the beach are exorbitantly priced.The service from Pui was spot on and she was most helpful. Service was timely and the food came at the right temperature.The massaman was equal to the best we've ever had, ever. Delicate, rich, and made in the proper slow cooked fashion. It came with roti bread.The crispy fish was cooked well and tasted great, but the highlight of that dish was the amazing mango salad that came with it. It complemented the fish perfectly. Beware, the mango salad is spicy. The seafood coconut custard was most unusual, maybe not to everyone's liking, but we really enjoyed it. It was a version of a red curry and beautifully presented in the shell.Drinks were ok for the price. We had mojitos, and they weren't watered down. Very tasty. Landed on Samui on a Friday so went straight to the walking street and The Shack with friends! We love to hang out at the Shack on a Friday eating real food, chatting with the expats and listening to Mark James. And we spotted some MMA fighters and people from the Singapore Grand Prix too!For main course I ordered a whole Maine Lobster that was grilled on the open grill and basked with butter. I also ordered the special seafood sauce on the side.. not to be missed - SPICY! There is new stuff on the menu, Halloumi fries with tzatziki. Absolutely amazing!! This I will be ordering again and again. Even though it was rather packed that day the staff gave us their full attention and nothing was overlooked. Very good service from those girls and boys! We'll be back as soon as possible.
