Our visit to this takeaway with a few tables, chairs and a fruit machine with more in common with a scout hut than a restaurant is a testament to the power of Trip Advisor and the paucity of viable alternative options. An earlier review suggested the curries were surprisingly good. However with a menu that also spans pizza, fried chicken and kebabs and let's face it a name that suggests post pub stodge rather than fine dining we approached the prospect with some little trepidation. As we were staying in a small B&B a takeaway wasn't really an option. Leaving us with the a choice of two tables with metal garden chairs. It was too cold to take off our coats. I would venture to suggest that it may not be an ideal setting for a first date even on a budget. But bear with me, when the food did arrive after a little wait.. suggesting it was freshly cooked...complete with plastic forks; it proved to be delicious. I like curry and have had many in all sorts of places. This was not only tasty but didn't lead to any of the less savoury after effects that are all too common with this type of food. I had chicken dupiaza. My other half had lamb tikka jalfrezi. We shared a plain naan glazed with ghee. Eating tasty curry in a drafty hall with a plastic fork may not be everyone's idea of fun but actually we enjoyed it. The staff were very pleasant and efficient too even offering to take a photograph of us together as we attempted a selfie. The bottom line is the curry was good. Very good.

The Frozen Spoon is a lovely little icecream shop. Visited last summer and twice this past week also. Very nice, friendly man served us earlier in the week. We had really good Strawberry Sundaes. Today we were served by a girl, less friendly, and got lovely cones. Very disappointed by the hygiene standards. The girl serving us wore no gloves when handling the cones. Quite long nails. She had a very grubby hair scrunchie on her wrist as well as a dangling shell bracelet, both of which were touching of the icecreams as she was scooping!

Best curry chips in the area .Also doing breakfast, service is slow as the food is being cooked to order but well worth the wait .
