My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend in the hotel Zum weissen Schwanen, and we had a perfect time. The hotel is very comfortable and very romantic, perfect for couples. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variety (smoked salmon, fruits, cheese table, breads, charcuterie, jams etc and juice, tea and coffee) and - what we both found awesome - paper bags to prepare your lunch! That was such a nice touch that the hotel won us right there. The atmosphere is great in this old, rustic house with a mill inside. Personal friendly, good food, comfortable room. Definitely worth the visit!

New German and international cuisine in an historical ambiente. Great choice of wine, draught beers. Lunch stop for groups on request.
We had dinner; wiener schnitzel veal for me and instead of fries I had a beautiful large salad. My husband had the special tender beef cheaks with rosemary potatoes. He could not believe how tender the beef was, using only his fork! Wonderful service, wine, beer and meal. Highly recommend!

Before heading back to the states we decided to go to this hidden gem weâve heard so much about from relatives. Long story short - food was spectacular, everything from the salad to the veal ragu to the off-menu schnitzel the charismatic owner prepared for us. Ambience was terrific, old vintage wood in a timeless mill, friendly restaurant patrons, cozy setting, and a very accommodating wait staff. Highly recommend to anyone traveling near the Boppard/Koblenz area. If the owner is reading this....please open a restaurant in Boston!

We struggled a few times to get a seat at this popular restaurant, but finally slotted in on Tuesday night, though we shared a table German style with a Scottish couple. We both had the pumpkin soup, and then she had Spare ribs and I had Cordon Blue. Good and service excellent.Wir können uns gut an sie erinnern - vielen Dank für Ihren Besuch!! Bitte kommen Sie bald erneut zu uns!

1920, Four-sided gambrel-style hip roof with façade risalite. Its annex (present Gästehaus Ingrid) was built 1699-1702. Family Kochhäuser bought it in 1973 and converted it to an accommodation with 9 rooms. Located under the House an arched cellar where wine tastings are held.

The Winzerhaus is a delightful German gasthaus! Wonderful food, not pretentious, and very warm and welcoming. With just three nights in Oberlahnstein and having eaten there the first night, we loved the food, service and atmosphere so much that we returned for our next two nights. The schnitzels we had were all outstanding! If they have a venison stew, by all means, try it; it will be tasty and tender. The other customers were middle age and upwards in age; so if you are in your 20's and "looking for some action", go elsewhere. But if you want to experience a traditional German gasthaus with great food, this is the place to go! With the other customers enjoying themselves so much, you are bound to do the same!

I have been to this location at least 5 times because my partner likes its convenience to the Globus and others stores in Lahnstein. The last visit was in late May 2015. In the past, I have sat both inside and in the winter-garden. And I have also eaten both lunch and dinner at this restaurant. The location is OK. The Restaurant and Pizzeria is located in the middle of the block on AdolfstraÃe in Lahnstein. The location is convenient for those in Lahnstein or for those shopping at or near the Globus in Lahnstein. On almost every visit, we were friendly greeted by the owner or waiter/waitress, as we arrived. However, on one occasion as we arrived, we asked if we could sit in the winter-garden and the waitress disappeared for a while without saying a word. She just left us standing there at the entrance. Then finally, she came back and escorted us to a table in the winter-garden.The restaurant is decorated with a somewhat Italian motif. The tables are nicely decorated with a table cloth, a candle, and cloth napkins (which I prefer over cloth). In the winter to keep the cold air out, they have a curtain that hangs inside the doorway. Both inside seating and seating in the winter-garden is tight. When the tables are full with people, both inside and in winter-garden there isnât much space between tables. In fact, when the tables are full with people, it is chair back against chair back. It would NOT be a place for a group special occasion. The Menu is easy to read and understand. Plus, salads, soups, and vegetarian meals are also available. The food is sometime OK and other times not. Prices are above average, fair and the portions are appropriate. On my last visit, I had the Schnitzel with salad and fries. Substitutions of another type of potato or rice for the fries, is possible. While the food came hot and together, as it should be, my schnitzel on my last visit was dry and hard. So, unfortunately I can NOT recommend the Schnitzel. However, I can recommend the Tomato Soup, Salami Pizza, Spaghetti, and Tortellini, which I have had in the past. Despite the food not always having the best taste, the place is always busy. Noise level can be quite loud both inside and outside, since there is little material in the floor, wall or ceiling to absorb the sounds.During one visit there were small gnats flying around our table in the winter-garden. We mentioned it to the owner and at the time he did little to correct the problem. However, on subsequent visits the gnats were gone.As a mentioned, one can either sit inside or in the winter-garden. In the winter-garden the area is covered by a retractable roof. Because it does get warm sometimes in the winter-garden, one can request that it be retracted. Some parts of the restaurant need renovation, repair, or replaced. The outside winter-garden ceiling blinds were bent and look broken. The winter-garden ceiling glass/plexiglas looks dirty. Unfortunately, the optical view of these items has an influence on the atmosphere, the taste of ones meal, and therefore they detract from ones overall eating experience. We are always friendly wished a pleasant day, as we pay the bill and are offered a Grappa before leaving the restaurant. This Restaurant and Pizzeria has its own Internet page, which is very well organized and informative with an On-line Menu. However the internet page is only in German. There is no parking lot, so one has to go hunting for a parking spot on the street or down the street. Depending on where one parks, one may have to pay to park, if they want to pay again to have the privilege to eat at this restaurant. Based on taste, price, service, and atmosphere, overall this restaurant receives my low recommendation.

Called here for lunch during a trip around the village, food was excellent and good value for money, we ate outside which was pleasant but the inside of the restaurant is a relevation, it is beautiful and we wish we had found it sooner to enable an evening Dinner.

Sat down here at 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was quite busy. It was difficult to get attention, you had to chase a waitress rather than them coming to you.Ordered drinks, starter and main course. Drinks came fairly quickly. Starter arrived at 8.30pm. Then we sat until 9.30pm with no food. We were sat next to a group of 4. The 1st diner had finished his meal before the 4th diner had got their food. At 9.30 I asked where the food was and I was told 'We only have a small kitchen'. I don't class myself as a business genius but the obvious answer is have less tables. Waitresses seem to be coming out with just one plate at a time.At 9.40 after waiting 1 hour 10 minutes for my meal, I paid for my drinks and left.Wild horses wouldn't drag me back there.
