Booked this hotel last minute during a trip in July as a stopover. They weren't expecting us, but made sure we were accommodated. The hotel is clean, a little tired in places, but the restaurant is really good. Great food and beers, with fantastic panoramic view over Biedenkopf, which is lovely. Rooms are a good size, only one set of towels and we couldn't sort another two pillows either with the staff which was disappointing, but that said overall it was a good stay. Was popular with other travellers.

If you like authentic Italian Food, Ristorante Italia is the place you need to try.It´s located in Biedenkopf, a small city aprox. 1 1/2 hours north of Frankfurt/Main.A City that is known for having several highly-specialized companies which are market leaders in their field in its area.But it´s also known for it´s historic "Grenzgang" every seven years where the former city boundaries are stepped out.The "Italia" is ideal for families, but also for business lunch/dinner and larger groups.The service is friendly and efficient and the menu is very comprehensive, offering a large variety of foods.I was pleasantly surprised about the quality, freshness and taste of the food.Sure that I´ll come back when in the area next time.

A nice (large!) dinner of pork and spatzle (and several drinks) before the show...Perched up above the ramparts, a fine view ..Good food, good drinks, excellent service ...Absolutely no complaints...We went back AFTER the show ... http://kurtofgerolstein.blogspot.de/2013/08/hi-jinx-in-hesse.html .. which says it all

Gemütliches dörfliches Ambiente. Stammtisch und Thekenbetrieb vorhanden. Ab und zu verirren sich mal ein paar Musiker aus der heimischen Musikkapelle dort hin und geben ein Ständchen.Das Essen italienischer Art ist sehr gut. Aber auch Schnitzel, welche frisch zubereitet werden, schmecke super.Empfehlung!

My partner and I were in the area at the weekend and came here for Sunday lunch. We always come back here as it is reliable and friendly with reasonable prices We had the Tafelspitz (boiled beef) as main, with beef broth for starter and chocolate mousse for dessert (no choice for starter and dessert, but half a dozen mains at different prices) for 19.50 Good value and great taste. We shall come back!

We were taken to this local hotel restaurant by our German hosts for a nice dinner for 4 on a Sunday evening. The waiter wore traditional lederhosen and was more than friendly and professional. The food, while very good, was quite expensive, as was a German Riesling wine. Two opted for the fixed menu at Euro 59 each, while one person had a Carpaccio and another an octopus. Recommended for a fine meal out, but bring a full wallet.
