Laat ons eerlijk zijn, je gaat op restaurant om te eten, liefst lekker en in een aangenaam kader. Wel hieraan voldoet deze zaak ruimschoots. De tijd heeft er misschien wat stilgestaan volgens sommigen maar voor mij is dit niet echt belangrijk.Het eten, de wijnen en bediening waren voortreffelijk, alles was netjes en verzorgd, klassieke tafelopstelling, met een mooie afwerking, meer moet het niet zijn.Zeker een aanrader als je van klassieke keuken houdt zonder veel poespas.

Resto-Brasserie "Het Vaderland" is located in the historic environment of the Big Market at Dendermonde. Here you can enjoy a variety of famous Belgian and local beers and good food. Don't forget to taste their "Asperges", the white gold of Belgium ;p Dendermonde is not widely known but worth visiting and you have also to taste the local specialities...

Mooie zaak. Voorgerechten waren ok. Sorbet slecht. Steak, niet mals, bearnaisesaus veel te zout.Bitter weinig groentjes.Kabeljauw niet gaar en balsamico verknoeide de smaak. Nagerecht van de chef niks speciaal.Bediening was zakelijk.

The interior makes one think of the 1950's and makes one feel at home. Nice for breakfast, lunch or for a coffee (cheap refills of normal coffee), not open for dinner. Also lovely icecreams. The team is very friendly, but service is quite slow, which fits with the atmosphere.

I have been here a few times and never been disappointed! Everything is here for a nice evening/lunch. Worth trying is the steak tartare,it's handmade at your table. This is the way a steak tartare should be. But the other dishes are also really good!

Visited the restaurant on the occasion of my birthday. We selected the extended gourmand menu (7courses). We were treated with a few very nice small dishes to get going. A.o. a fresh green gazpacho and a delicious shrimp tempura.The trip through the menu was a true revelation of taste. Starting with two variations of langoustine, ending with a delicious mix of chocolate and pistache. The lobster with Asian inspirations was outstanding.Service could be a bit more relaxed. The youngsters will certainly gain experience in the years to come. Kudos to the sommelier for her enthusiasm.Wine choice was excellent up to the main course although the red wine should have been a bit colder. We would have appreciated a different red, why not a sweeter one, with the cheese..Overall a recommendation. We'll certainly come back. I would avoid hot summer evenings when seated upstairs though..

Sint Antonius is an old establishment on the Dendermonde-Zele/Lokeren route. It has enough parking space, some outdoor toys to keep children busy, and is popular both for business lunches over lunch time, as for family meals on other moments. Open from 11am-last customer leaving; closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.Food is nice, portions to our taste too big, and there is an excellent fast service by competent staff. Seating is fine, not too close to other tables, and there is a quite large outdoor terrace for the sunny days.The restaurant also cares for afternoon visitors and is offering a large selection of ice creams,....

At Fridays the restaurant offers a very special menu atâ¬78 (apero, wine and coffee included)The "amuses bouche" and the dessert is almost the same for several months or even years but the other dishes are alvast very delicious, according to the season. You won't be disappointed when you choose this menu. Value for money.
