This place is a popular place, a lot of locals eating there. You get to order your food as you enter, go and look for a table inside and they will serve your dishes at your table. It's supposedly been recently renovated, the place was clean, a bit crowded but lots of tables and seats for their customers. I love their version of the Bianshi (mini wontons), the skin was thin and not mushy. The soup was tasty. My friend had the Sha Cha with her choice of toppings, e.g. oysters, innards, etc.Didn't get a chance to try the Zong Xi but saw a lot of people have that, they are supposedly popular for that. Next time :-)

This place is a little hidden gem... It's a bit difficult to find. It's close to a small temple on the right side of the island. Try the coconut cakes 2rmb each or 6 boxed for 13rmb. I have visited twice already this month very addictive if you have a sweet tooth.

I lived in Xiamen in the late 90's. What a change. Although there have always been great restaurants in Xiamen, the Meridien Restaurant takes great dining to another level. For one, the hotel and grounds are world class. As for the food, we went when only a buffet was offered. So, I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. All the food seemed like it was prepared to order, rather than buffet food. The variety was great, with western food, traditional chinese food and even some japanese. The wine selection was also very good.

The quality and presentation of the food is beautiful. The taste is truly amazing, nothing overpowers any individual item. I'm a huge fan of the beef and cashew nut. Whilst they don't have a Rosé wine, the white from New Zealand is superb. Restaurant doesn't seem to be overly busy but I appreciate the friendly serviceThere may be cheaper places but you get what you pay for.I would recommend you try.I am happy you enjoyed the food and service experience were what you expected and deserve.We appreciate your time in sharing with us your experience.
