We love tasting menus.. the Alegre has a well balanced 6 course tasting menu which we enjoyed.I donât understand why this formula isnât more prevalent.People ( like us, who like to taste as much as posssible, but Ike to keep our weight within limits and have smallish appetites ) are often very pleased to have a tasting menu.Spread the news!

The PERFECT place for a coffee and a huge hunk of culture. #1 This is a combination Foto Shop and Cafe. You can see "Grandma's Attic" filled with Dress-Up clothes for a photo treat.#2 The service is EXCELLENT. A server showed up almost immediately with a menu.#3 If you don't know what a Cafe Cortado is, then this is a good place to order one. If you DO know what a Cortado is, then this is STILL a good place to have one.#4 The 13-year-old had TWO Nutella macaroons and a coke. Heavenly for him.#5 The Princess had a Cortado, of course, and a LARGE slice of Lemon Meringue Pie. (It was her birthday.)#5 I had a draft beer. (usual size) Could have been my birthday.#6 Tired of crowds and street noise? It is so mellow inside that you will be surprised when you step back onto the street.#7 Should have put this at #1: The decor and the construction take you back about 100 years. Very tasteful.#8 Seated not far from us we spotted Don Cuasi and Tremebunda.DON'T MISS THIS!

Went for lunch and had their ceviche platter, a bit of every cold seafood they have on the menu. The presentation was alright but the seafood was just not fresh at all. The crab claws were dry and still not fully defrosted. The prawn was the only one that was alright. Everything else was just not fresh and same seasoning for every seafood. The ceviche platter is super overpriced 26,900 pesos!!!! The garlic bread and spread was actually the best of the Neal which was complementary. There are many other restaurants with the same view but much better food. Service was minimal and definitely not attentive.Dear Amy, making an accusation of poisoned food is a very serious matter, it is the first time someone comments on something like this. Our products are fresh, but for you know the products of the sea need a cold chain, can not be had at room temperature, this is why they are cold. Also the entrance is a cold dish, which includes all kinds of seafood and a ceviche, is an entrance for 4 people, for this reason it has this price. We regret your bad taste.

This is a new place in a cute street in the hills of Valparaiso. We arrived here cuz we wanted some place to have drinks and a good chat with some friends. When you enter the building you are automatically impressed by the decoration and environment (just loved it). The problem is that the menu is not very varied (they only had one type of beer - imported -, which was good, but I wanted to try something local). We had some appetizers that were delicious, but tiny and not cheap, but worth trying. Also the cocktails were quite good. I wish the service had been a little faster, and that they had more alternatives for non alcohol drinkers.
