Hi, My Wife and I and some friends dined here one Saturday evening. As always the food served is delicious and is of a very high standard. Our friends hadn't dined at the Golden Country before and were very impressed. The portions are very generous and are always served quickly. We will deffo visit again soon.

18 years and a thousand delivered meals later, we still think Canaan is great quality and value! This evening's meal (King Prawn Fried Rice, Barbecue Spare Rib, Dim Sum, Extra Vegetables, Prawn Crackers) was, as always, perfection - piping hot (delivered within 15 minutes), more than enough for two and delivered to our door for £14.20 Inc. They deliver within a 3-mile radius. Highly recommended.

The service in this restaurant is excellent and the staff are friendly. The restaurant has a good ambience and decor. We opted for the Cantonese Feast at £23 per person Barbecued Spare Ribs and Sesame Prawn Toast, the toast was delicious but the ribs did not appear to be served in a barbecued sauce it tasted more like a sweet jam sauce, these starters seemed quite small portions one rib each an one small piece of toast. This was followed by Pork Yuk Sung which was very tasty. The dishes which followed were Stir Fried Beef in garlic and black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken, and stir fried king prawns with vegetables served in a noodle birds's nest., all of these were well presented and lovely as was the egg fried rice. My only gripe was that compared to other Thai and Chinese restaurants it is about £6 more for two.

Fast service. Mini fish & chips Chinese curry sauce. I would put a huge bet that the fish was not cod! River cobbler possibly???!! Chips were hard and curry sauce watery. Meal did not include mushy peas or beans, just the Chinese watery sauce. ( anything to keep costs down I imagine!) plastic fork, charged 10p very thin indeed, so thin not up to job and broke off whilst eating, one layer of paper to keep food warm!Overall a very very small portion. Should not be advised as a meal deal, itâs not a special or complete meal deal, as in regular chip shops. Were there is the sausage or peas or anything else??? Very disappointing meal, therefore poor value.

A group of us came here to celebrate a birthday and had a very good time.The restaurant handles birthdays very well and it is worth going there for such an occasion The food was very good and up to the expected standard. The menu is varied and everything we chose arrived hot and very tasty. Service was also excellent. Our group was arriving from all over the place and we were not the easiest table to serve but that was not a difficulty. At least from our point of view!Although the food is good beware the gin and tonic! These days gin is enjoying a good reputation and is served in fancy glasses with a variety of gins and all sorts of tonics. Not so here! A very basic gin served in a lemonade glass is what you get! Never mind we came for the food and a good time. That is what we got and we will be back. Well done China City.
