Colonia Tovar (English: Tovar Colony) is a town of Venezuela, capital of the municipality Tovar in Aragua state. Founded in 1843 by a group of immigrants from the then independent state of the Grand Duchy of Baden (later incorporated into Germany), it is characterized by the maintenance of the cultural imprint of their origin, so it is called "the Germany of the Caribbean". The economy depends primarily on agriculture and tourism; and the town is located 42 km (26 mi) from Caracas. The Colonia is known for its temperate crops (peaches, strawberries, beets, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, chard, broccoli, lettuce, onions and potatoes) and their derivatives. Since 1990 it has shown a high rate of population growth, rising from 3,373 to 21,000 inhabitants in 2016.

Do you know how I can tell this is the best Chinese place in town? Chinese people go eat there! A LOT. And that's something you won't EVER see in Venezuela (they even have specialities for Chinese customers). About the place: Wow! I've been to China and the taste here is just as close. You can order anything from the extensive menu, and you won't be disappointed. Ask for a green tea jar to accompany your delicious food. My favorites: Arroz Cantones (is not fried like in other places), Sopa de Aleta de tiburón, pato y cerdo (any), Tiritas de pollo agridulces, lumpias de lomito, gyozas de camarón. All the plates are huge, and you shouldn't order more than a plate per person. This place is expensive, but you're probably gonna spend the same or more in other places and get so much less satisfaction.

We usually order delivery from this Chinese restaurant which is quite good. Thy the dim sums, the Singapore noodles, the special fried rice and the chicken with honey and sesame, all delicious. Eating at the restaurant is a good option too, nice decor and ambience.
