I came to the restaurant at 9:15. No omelette, no stewed vegs, no pancakes, no bread, no croissant. I was fed with promises that everything will be brought in a few minutes, the cook brought something after half an hour...I asked why, the waitress said too many people. The rack where to leave used plates and trays was full up and people willing to clean the table were forced to leave trays on the tables. I asked for the hotel manager, I was told by the receptionist that he will be absent today....I understand that:1 many peaople for Ibis Uljanovsk is no good2 manager has no clue how to organize the restaurant work and bookings3 but above all there was no responsible manager on site to cope with the situation.I had to suggest to the waitress to change the label and put at least some scrambled eggs in order for the serving tray not to look empty.Dear trootolinoA,Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the ibis Ulyanovsk. Veprevo Koleno was found by supprise. This place has excellent atmosphere, service is good, and waiters can speak some English also. Everybody here was very friendly.They are offering best part's of Czech cuisine, like sausaces, soups and steaks and skewed fish. All food was amazing, it looked good and tastes very good.They do have also a good beverage list.

This is inside the imperial hotel... The tables are very well laid out... The centre table under the chandelier is majestic.The food is very reasonably priced... Drinks from across Europe is available. The home made juices are very good.

Before raises the standard in Ulyanovsk. That goes for both the interior and the menu. Let's be honest, prices are high for Russian standards. But drinks are nicely mixed and dinner is excellent for Russian standards, but average for European standards imo. Place looks cool and is visited by the 'bourgeoise' and rich kids. Making it the hot spot for people with cash.On the downside: the Moscow Mule tasted nothing like the original. On the upside: there is shisha/hookah availableThanks for the tip, waiting for you again)

Not bad but slow service. food is not bad, above average prices. we had to wait for cakes and couple of simple foods for around an hour, although drinks were served quite timely. they had problems on the kitchen it seems as the restaurant was not busy that time. menu variable with local traditional selection, European selection (limited though - but Russian cuisine is quite good also), drinks and cocktails. Summer open terrace offered good space and some comfort while sitting open air and enjoying weather with good drinks. quite in city center in front of Lenin Museum and in walking distance from city hall. the park behind museum offers breath taking view over river.

Spices in greek salad were coarsely ground ("sticks between teeth"), but we were told it's the recipe. Sausages with stewed sauerkraut is a must-try. Interiors on the No. 1 restaurant in the city are clean and neat, but anything but luxurious. Also, it's a pity, they openly raise funds as charity for territories presently under occupation.
