Had lunch here on our first day in Tulum, we were the only ones in the bar which is always a worry but then it was early.We were recommended shrimp taco platter for two which seemed expensive at 400 but it was a lot of food! The only beer they done was corona in a can but the cocktail menu looked good so we will be back to sample those. Good service, same 4 songs seemed to play over and over though which got a bit annoying!

Absolutely love the full on flora of this unique place. It's a "not to miss" dining experience-beautiful real Tulum vibe. Very important though--either go before or after dusk, or wear plenty of bug spray. We made the mistake of going at dusk without protection and were bitten like crazy. Couldn't even stay for dinner, just had one menu item and asked for the check so that we could escape the no-see-ums. Sad, because we really wanted to stay for dinner. Interesting menu but service was slow considering that there were only two or three tables occupied.

Food was great! The rest was terrible. The palo santo or incense they constantly burn for the mosquitos was very overwhelming. The music was live typical Andean which for the whole dinner was too much, it was driving us crazy by the end. We got charged with option of paying in dollars like all places in Tulum but the exchange rate was NOT the official rate but 3 points below so we paid even more for dinner.What I really did no like at all, was the people offering us drugs at the entrance and to make things worse the restaurants door staff warns them and hides them when the police came by. REALLY!Hello Phenao, We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed our amazing food! The jungle side of Tulum can be very wet/humid at all locations, not just GITANO. We use a natural tree resin to keep mosquitos away as we respect the very fragile environment of Tulum. Regarding your complaint at the door, this was nothing to do with us, we take all measures to make sure this kind of activity is not tolerated at Gitano Tulum.

This is not just dinner...this is a place to experience the real Tulum. The natural jungle setting, furnishings, open kitchen, and candles all provide an ambiance that sets the mood for an unforgettable meal. Simple yet utterly creative presentation of flavors and made with the highest quality of local ingredients. The knowledgable staff are committed to their craft and provide excellent service. This is my special go to every time I am visiting Tulum!

We arrived in Tulum after a long trip from Belize and wanted to have a quick bite. Safari was close to our hotel and looked nice. We ordered a few tacoâs and side dishes. Tacoâs were good. Rice/beans, guacemole and ceviche average. Service , which was good, was added to our bill which was not told to is when we ordered (and not mentioned on the menu either). Couldât pay by card which i donât understand in such a tourist place. Overall ok, but price versus quality not entirely in balance.

What a cool place! I was with my hippie aunt, mother, and two other aunts and everyone enjoyed this place. My hippie aunt and I probably enjoyed it the most, but the tacos are great, service was good, the beach below was cool, and they are even 420 & pet friendly! I am now a regular! Thank you Taqueria La Eufemia!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary dinner here based on the high TripAdvisor ranking...and it did not disappoint. Coming during the low season, we didn't have to worry about a reservation, and were warmly welcomed in. The tuna appetizer was amazing, and the cocktails (though pricey) were fresh and delicious. While I got the whitefish - which was very good - my wife got the spare rib, which was incredible. Just a great dining experience.Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your experience at BAL NAK'.
