They 'specialize' in Texas BBQ style smoked beef brisket; pulled pork; chicken. No they do not. The beef brisket was very fatty. The meat was served on a wooden plank. The sauces were cold in pour containers on the table. Three sauces, Pineapple-the best; a Mustard and a BBQ sauce you had to pour onto the meat. It came with a tiny container of blah cold slaw. WE shared a green salad that had a dressing made of oil and vinegar and spices-the oil was stale. The olives on the salad were old. I had mine in a sandwich and the bun was week old bread. We ordered two glasses of Pinot Gris and as they were being served was told we could only have this one glass, they were out of that particular wine. Dessert was a dry chocolate brownie. To cap off a dreadful meal, the chef in the kitchen barked at the server because she was giving us our change when the 'owners' meals were ready. They were served, we waited. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.Thank you for your honest review. We are not one to make excuses for your experience, but must say that this is not the usual response to our food. We have been well received and are sorry you felt you didnât have the experience you wanted. Our Beef brisket is offered lean or, as many people like it, with a small fat cap. Our olives are imported and I frankly donât know of any olives that arenât old, thatâs what they are, preserved. Our buns Re baked fresh locally and dressing homemade. I believe this review was planted by our neighboring competition To bring our rating down intentionally. In any case, we always strive to have fantastic fare and if you did have a problem, had you pointed it out st the time of dining, we would have certainly made it up to you, as is our policy.

We stopped here both on the way in and on the way out of Hopkins Village and had breakfast in this very unique family home. Very friendly owners (and cat and bunny) who served us delicious omelettes with garden fresh vegetables, delicious coffee, and homemade jam. Well worth a stop!

Merl is Yoli of Yoli's bar mother. Her small restaurant is just right by Yoli's and it's a hidden gem. I have had breakfast overlooking the water. dinner was one of the best I had. My husband caught strawberry grouper and she cooked it to perfection. The seasoning was great. I had a very moist barbecue chicken with some of the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. Other menu choices were shrimp and conch. Dinner is by reservation only. Lunch Was stewed chicken or lasagna. Her desserts are the best in town.. With a days notice she will cook you a whole pie or cake. Go there you won't regret it. Merl, her daughter Tiffany and Merls mother are generally there. This is a family operation and they do everything like They would in their home. Thank you we truly enjoyed our meal

We stopped in for dinner during our stay at a nearby hotel/resort - a short walk down the beach. Weâre not a vegetarian family, and we do have some food allergies,and this turned out to be a fantastic spot for us, including dessert choices. If youâre staying in the area and looking to try something new, we highly recommend strolling down the beach and stopping here!

Fabulous location right on the beachfront. Great place just to hang out. Extensive range of drinks / juices / smoothies. A few vegetarian options available. Food is cooked fresh while you wait. Service and staff interaction - meh, could be a lot better. Loved the falafel wraps and great value too.

My husband and I walked down to Thongs for breakfast. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a 'good morning'. We sat in the outdoor seating area which was clean and well decorated. We ordered coffee with a shot of creme liquor, an Italian omelette, and the all American breakfast. While waiting for our breakfast we were given a little 'sample' of a mango smoothie which was fresh and yummy. Our food was well prepared and the portions were large. I was able to take half of my meal back to the casita. Thongs offered many healthy options on the menu and many unique choices like a ginger lime syrup, pickled egg plant., and hand made granola. But, they also have traditional breakfast food for the less adventurous eaters. There is something for everyone at Thong's.

Afrodite is really one of the places to be whenever you are in placencia! Amazing tastey food - super uncomplicated and just along the walking sideway! We have been there 4times now and it was always TOP! nice service, all kind of cocktails and soooo jammmy delicous food! Go and check it out!
