Called into Lunchbox at the tech today with grandparents. Place is lovely and open, clean and tidy. Had baked potato which was massive, super hot and plenty of topping and side salad. Sandwiches and toasties were also great and very well presented. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely recommend and will call again! Disabled access was also very good for Grandparents.

A group of twelve people from our Walking Group enjoyed a very enjoyable walk in Carnfunnock Country Park last week. The park near Larne on the Antrim Coast Road covers 191 hectares of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, walking trails and the Parklands Cafe. This was the perfect end to our walk and the Catering Manager and his excellent staff provided us with an extensive menu choice of home made scones, salads, sandwiches or a fried breakfast, beautifully cooked and served with tea/coffee. They also cater for Children with the option to add additional items like "99" ice creams or "Slushie" drinks for groups. Within the park they can provide catering at the various purpose built BBQ areas, ideal for a Corporate Day out.The staff all make you feel welcome and it is their goal to ensure that everyone has a fun day in the park and we would strongly recommend that you pay them a visit.

We thought we'd try this place on our lunch hour, but unfortunately we were not impressed, service was pretty slow despite no one else in queue. Very overpriced for what we got with limited time to eat it. We had 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees but it was actually cheaper having a good Italian meal in a local restaurant. We'll be sticking to that in future.

The Upper Crust Restaurant & Coffee Shop

Reviewed By pqvx

Every so often (hopefully not TOO often) you come across an establishment which you leave just feeling cheated. Upper Crust was one of those places.I had the “Irish Stew”, which suffered from two main shortcomings – (1) the portion was TINY (in a little pudding dish); (2) it wasn’t Irish Stew. Oh, and it was lukewarm. And £4.55 for what seemed to be a kiddies’ portion.Words fail me. Irish Stew, if you don’t know, contains very few ingredients: stewing steak or neck of lamb (not browned); onions; carrots; potatoes; salt, white pepper, and water. This concoction was made with MINCE, for God’s sake – talk about cheapskate. The three tablespoons were just about edible, though lukewarm, having been served in a cold dish. And the coffee… well, again, the miserly attitude of the owner shone through: not so much coffee as warm water.I could go on, but you get the point.Terrible, don’t go.As the owner I was very annoyed with your review, firstly we do not sell "Irish Stew", we sell homemade stew which is different and can be made using mince. If your Stew wasn't warm enough then our staff would have only been to happy to reheat the stew our if you choose to have something else, we would have replaced it. You haven't given us a chance to rectify the situation. With regards to your coffee, if it wasn't strong enough its up to you to ask for an extra shot, the staff always ask how you like your coffee when you are at the till. You made a comment about "the miserable attitude of the owner shone through", do you know the owner? Why would you make a personal comment like that? A very unfair comment to make. To say you felt cheated is an over exaggerated and in my opinion uncalled for.I would rather deal with a customers complaint there and then and make sure they leave our shop happy with the service they have received. Sometimes mistakes happen, but its how you deal with them is important.

Caffe Spice

Reviewed By Gretchen56

Went here on Friday 10th March. Ordered the super healthy salad with Piri Piri chicken. Very disappointed with the meal. The chicken had been fried and was either a boned out leg or thigh which I hate. You would have thought for the price of £7.50 it would have been a breast. The avocado was past its best and most of it was brown. My friend's had baked potatoes which were lovely and came with lots of salad. The staff were lovely and the place is clean. So sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your Piri Piri chicken super salad - it does state on the menu that it is chicken thighs ( which is the most tender & succulent part of the chicken but I appreciate it is not everyone's choice ) - the chicken is marinated in a Piri Piri sauce and is then dry fried on the hot plate - ( although all our oils used for all our dishes are either rapeseed or olive oil ) I can only apologise for the avocado - they are brought in fresh every week but if it was brown then it should not have been served with your salad and would have been better to have left it off - unfortunately avocados go brown very quickly once they have been peeled - did you point this out to my staff at the time? I hope that this experience has not put you off and I thank you for bringing this to my attention so that we can strive to get it right in the future

Extensive menu, great atmosphere for a Tuesday night. Very tasty mixed starter. My daughter plumped for mussels and our friend had goats cheese tart. Between us we had lasagne, seafood pasta and my choice was asparagus and ham risotto. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was generous. Good choice of wine by the bottle or glass. Friendly efficient service. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Ideal choice. Fantastic food with sea views of the promenade, passing ferry and sea. Plenty of options for breakfast, both traditional and modern. There was everything from a sticky bun, avocado, bacon and sourdough and eggs benedict to an Ulster fry and porridge and berries. Great coffee and hot chocolate too. From a previous visit I recall the lasagne and the chips as being outstanding.

Silver Lounge

Today we thought we would have lunch at the Silver Lounge, many years ago it was a favourite place to eat. But we got lazy and had not gone that far along the street lately but today we were really pleased that we did. We ordered a fry and soup and a sandwich with tea. They do a great fry there and the vegetable broth and freshly made chicken sandwich really hit the spot. From memory they were always well known for a great fry and fish and chips. The service was very good and staff were pleasant and friendly. Will be going back soon.
