Tea on the Green

Reviewed By mark5281

As it was the bank holiday Sunday we decided to go to the Tea on the green, we had been a couple of times before and both times it had been excellent, same again the service was very good, yes it might take a bit longer to come but that’s because it is all freshly cooked to order, and it was well worth the wait. The full English breakfast was well cooked and very tasty and a good price. Each time we’ve been the food has been very tasty.

What a lovely traditional sweet shop. My child had a delicious ice cream sundae to take away and I had a triple chocolate ice cream milkshake with cream and malteasers. Upstairs was a little cafe area which we hope to sample next time. The shop keeper was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble and she was happy for us to take our time choosing.

Cafe at The Green Pavilion

Reviewed By amdgriggs

We've been here a couple of times now, for coffee and cakes or breakfast rolls before setting off on day walks, and it's great. Very friendly and enthusiastic service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere with trendily mismatched chairs and tables, and some great food. We didn't want a full meal the last time but some of the fresh salads looked delicious - a quinoa or couscous base salad, sundried tomatoes and olives, a curried veg offering and more. Our cappuccinos were excellent, anyway, as were the ciabatta breakfast rolls - bacon and egg for Jenny, egg and cheese for me - set us up nicely for a day's walk. Definitely a cafe to come back to

Eat at No.5

No.5 is our favourite go-to place for lunch in Buxton. Such a large array of goodies and home made food. My favourite is the cream of chicken soup, which unfortunately is only available in winter! Despite the fact, that there is little parking nearby and not a lot of seating, we have, thankfully, always managed to get in. Thoroughly recommended.

Stocks Cafe & Bistro

Cosy, reasonably priced cafe, serving locally sourced good homemade food.

Reviewed By Phil C

Disappointed to be walking towards the cafe as a group of six to be told they were closing up and wouldn't serve us, especially as we had struggled over the cobbles to the cafe with a wheelchair in full view of the server. There was no option to have a cold drink or anything. If advertised as open (and serving) till four, they should not be closing up at twenty to.Unfortunately you went to the Stocks café Lounge, not the Stocks café & Bistro, the stocks café lounge closes at 15:00, so you turned up 20 min after closing, and put the reiew on the wrong business

We visited while walking but this cafe also welcomes cyclists and riders - they even have stables! The cafe is beautifully furnished with lovely solid wood furniture and a log burning stove. The setting is amazing, walk down the lane 500m from the main footpaths and bridleway and you are “in the middle of nowhere” - the walk back up the lane is also good to burn off the calories from the cakes that you couldn’t resist! We stayed in the attached b&b so had breakfast as well as stopping for a scone with cream and jam after our walk. There is a great choice on the menu and they serve a lovely proper sized pot of tea! The food is all high quality and locally sourced as well as the owners being welcoming and being happy to advise you on good local walks. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting the Peak District.

Enjoy our freshly made breakfasts and sandwiches alongside our home made, authentic Greek mezes, meals and snacks. A real taste of Greece here in Chapel-en-le-Frith!

We went here twice in the four days in Chapel, first time for lunch which was lovely. The second time we visited was for dinner. The main reason we came back was there seemed to be a lack of decent places to eat in Chapel and we knew the food was nice. It is only a small place and the tables are very close together.Thank you, glad you enjoyed our food! We do have more space upstairs if you visit again
