The Corner Cafe

We have as a family been visiting Corner Cafe for many years, I can honestly say it is one of the best value cafes around, wether you go for breakfast, lunch, fresh soup, or homemade cakes you won't be disappointed. Jane and her wicked sense of humour add to the ambience and the price makes it affordable to all, and it's fully family friendly.

I have visited the tea rooms on a number of occasions and as my mum was visiting for the weekend I booked afternoon tea using a Groupon voucher. We arrived early which didn’t appear to be a problem and we were promptly seated. We had our Prosecco and then our tea and food arrived. Although at first sight it didn’t look enormous we were stuffed by the end of it so it was just right. Thank you.

Cafe Nova

Situated on the mezzanine floor of Oswaldtwistle Mills, Cafe Nova offers a wide array of food and beverages in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Visiting the Oswaldtwistle Mills we came upon the Cafe Nova and decided to take lunch. There's plenty of seating in the 1st floor location. I had the Panini and Chips special, she had a Tuna Mayo sandwich, both washed down with Americanos. They were all served promptly and pleasantly so we had no complaint whatsoever.

I had a day off and it rained non stop all morning . We didn’t want to go too far as travelling would have been horrendous. We changed our plans decided to do jobs in the morning then have lunch out. We chose to come here as it’s not open when I’m off work. It was so lovely, the decor is fab and like a traditional tea room. We were met with a nice warm welcome. The service was wonderful and friendly and now for the best bit .... the food and drink . Tea was hot and refreshing served in china cups. We shared because we both wanted the same. The Cheese and onion pie served with salad was so tasty and homemade, the tuna sandwiches were fresh and also tasty. The cakes were divine lemon curd sponge was light and fluffy and the ginger nut topped cake was excellent . Thanks for making my wet day off wonderful

Following lunch in the Pavillion restaurant which was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful we had a shop. We decided to stop for cafe and coffee before we headed home. The Terrace had just had an afternoon tea event but it was over. I went in and asked if they were open and had my head bitten off as I was told "Only for drink! The kitchens closed." I asked if cakes were available and told yes. I then was barked at the I could only sit a 2 very squashed together tables even though the whole tea room was empty. You may have been busy but this isn't the way to keep customers, we left and stopped off at a Costa on the way home I stead.

Given all the good reviews i had high expectations..The staff were great, friendly, attentive.Hot drinks couldn’t faultThe food was bland and tasteless, I had meat pie, it wasn’t seasoned and was very boring. Partner had a breakfast which he wasn’t impressed with either.Lots of other places to try out for breakfast/lunch so won’t revisit here I’m afraid.
