First time diners here and was very happy with everything. The food and staff excellent. Had the salt and pepper squid best I’ve tasted and I have tasted it many times had the chicken ham and leak pie again very tasty. Meal for two with starters and mains with two small bottles of prosecco £49. Would recommend and return.

Was really looking forward to Christmas dinner here, especially after the great reviews. Unfortunately it was a catalogue of errors. Starter ok, wrong main course so ended up with Turkey dinner, which was barely enough to feed a child. Turkey was ok but the sprouts and carrots had been boiled to an inch of their life, dry mashed potato and soggy roast potato. The only thing I ate was the starter. Majority of people were complaining, definitely not worth the money!!

Greatly needed in Clayton le Moor this place doesn’t disappoint!! The food is fabulous. Went for lunch with friends. Two of us had the cheese pie which came highly recommended, served with lovely chips and very fresh salad. Chicken Piri Piri sizzler with salsa sour cream chips and two wraps. And finally salmon. Everybody really enjoyed it. We did wait 30 minutes which is fine when everything is so fresh so no complaints but just wondering if the place was full would they cope. There wasn’t anybody else in whilst we were there. But ten out of ten for the chefs. Give it a try

We have come to love this place..the food is so tasty and a bit different from what you would normally expect, small menu means that everything is fresh. The other niche is the cocktails, which are made the 'proper' way with attention to detail, like chilling the glasses first. Lovely ambiance and chilled vibe, definitely recommend

2nd time we have been here for a family gathering and I have to say the Staff are wonderful. Very attentive and professional. The good is lovely and we all had different options. I tried the Chicken Kiev and it was delicious and served with sweet potato fries and a side salad. The Hargreaves pale ale, is a lovely blonde ale and highly recommended.. Overall another good night, great company and being honest a slightly bad head this morning. We will no doubt be back.

Do you want somewhere with fires blazing on a wet evening, friendly caring staff, excellent service and wholesome food…….look no further than the Walton Arms.Lots of cosy corners, good pub menu with all the favourites and some not expected! We visited mid week after work and it was very busy. The service was lighting fast, thank you.Take for instance the vegan pulled jack-fruit burger! Absolutely amazing! Give it a try for a manly burger with a big taste, hubby loved this.I had the cheese and onion pie, which I am partial to, perfect and very cheesy in a good way! Will certainly be back again .

After hearing conflicting reports we decided to give it a try... firstly loud music for a quiet lunchtime catch up wasn’t good. Having to shout the orders to the waitress wasn’t the best. A small rock hard baguette with 4 bite sized chunks of steak, a tea spoon of coleslaw and a tiny portion of skinny fries ( still hard). Served on a massive dinner plate??? The steak baguette was on the menu with red onion jam and Stilton but in reality the onion and cheese were missing from all our orders. Won’t be back there needless to say

On Sunday I just fancied a home made Sunday lunch without all the washing up that comes with it and my partner suggested eating here.We hadn’t booked but the staff were more than accommodating at finding a table to fit us in.I ordered the beef Sunday lunch and asked if they could swap the new potatoes for mash and I must say I was not disappointed. The beef was beautifully cooked and the accompaniments were lovely, with a huge yorkshire pudding on top. For £9.95 absolute bargain, lovely home cooked food without any washing up!I would definitely recommend eating here ❤️

Saturday afternoon. Out for a few drinks and feeling peckish. This place has a largish menu, with a specials board, so there's plenty to choose from. We had scampi (which apparently was more than acceptable) and the home made meat pie. Fab service, great food, lovely people and very reasonably priced. We'd definitely come here to eat again.
