the first view of priest house from the road is stunning, the welcome when you arrive is the same. We wen to a family birthday party for lunch, which was a carvery, when we arrived we were welcomed with pimms or juice and a very lovely smile. The inside of the buiding is amazing it is like stepping back a couple of hundred years but with todays amenities, the staff were lovely, the food was great and the tables were layed out to perfection, it all went smoothly though I dont think there were more than 4 or 5 staff and about 40 or 50 people to see to but it all went so smooth, I would say it is one of the nicest places I have ever visited in this coulntry or any other.Hi YvonneThank you very much for the lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed it and everything went so well on the day. We look forward to seeing you again one day.Kind RegardsDebbie

Whilst I was not able to give a good review for the accommodation my experience of the restaurant was completely the opposite. From the waiting staff to the excellent food we were extremely impressed. My wife had the lamb on both nights and thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions. I had the fish platter and liver on the second night. Once more these were cooked to perfection. The breads on arrival were a lovely touch. The staff were extremely attentive without ever being intrusive.Well what a review THANK YOU and we look forward to welcoming you again soon! I shall certainly pass on your comments to our team! The Dales Cottage Cafe

This cafe takes me back to the 1950/60s. Oil cloth table cloths, willow pattern plates, teapots that will not pour tea easily and big chunky cutlery. It's a bit cramped between tables, especially if your neighbours are on the stout side. Parking nearby is at a premium. BUT - what a cracking full English breakfast for not a lot of money. Almost always perfectly cooked and usually with very little waiting time, The roast lunches are good too, very simple but very tasty. You're unlikely to get rare beef and the vegetables are usually carrots, peas and cabbage - so nothing fancy but such good value. Definitely a leap back in time.

Called in here after staying overnight at the Travelodge; first visit to Skipton. Two of us chose the granola with fruit and yoghurt and our friend had the half breakfast. The granola was beautifully presented, was a very good-sized portion and was delicious. The half breakfast was excellent value at £7 including a cup of tea and was also very well presented and included several fresh tomatoes and mushrooms as well as sausage, egg, beans, toast and bacon. We sat upstairs where the decor was very quirky and interesting. The staff were lovely too, making the whole experience very pleasant. Highly recommended.Hello!Thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review of your visit! We are so glad that you enjoyed your breakfast and our quirky little bar!We hope that you return in the future and look forward to seeing you again. Thanks again,The Two Sisters

I ordered egg, bacon and mushrooms for the missus and the vegetarian special for myself, which was sausage, egg, mushrooms and beans with toast and coffee. My princess had a pot of Yorkshire tea It became busy and the lady taking the order was a bit stressed due to a couple of rude customers but recovered well. Service was a tad slow but the portions were excellent with lots of toast with each meal. altogether it cost £13 but the size of the meals were amazing. Staff were lovely, got a hug of the counter lady.Well worth it, excellent food.Thank you for your patience and my but of a flap please call again

We had a late lunch here after hospital visiting and it was very enjoyable. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. I had the pear and blue cheese salad with balsamic dressing. This was very tasty. I also ordered a portion of rosemary fries, these were hot and crisp but had no flavour of rosemary.Brenda's pasta should have been served really hot but actually it was only warm, hence only 4 out of 5 stars. We will go back as it's an interesting menu and the coffee was delicious. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review Jasmin. I will pass your comments onto the kitchen team. Its great to hear you enjoyed your salad & coffee. Hopefully we will see you again.

I would definitely return here and thank you to the staff for making me feel at home.

We booked 2 rooms for one night, meeting up with my brother and his wife from Tasmania, and were delighted with our experience at the Old Swan Inn.We chose Gargrave due to its proximity to Skipton, and it is a really beautiful and characterful Yorkshire Village. Our accommodation at the Old Swan Inn was spacious and comfortable, and spotlessly clean, and just what we needed for a nights stay.We had booked a table in the restaurant and were glad we had because the restaurant and the bar were busy, which is always a good sign! The menu had a really good choice of meals, and the food that we had was all very tasty, well presented and well cooked. Service was also very good, with prompt attention to our requests and friendly and efficient service. Our accommodation included a full breakfast, and this was one of the best we had experienced in a long time, with a choice of fresh fruit, cereals and cooked options. The landlady, Lindsay, and all of the staff we met provided great Yorkshire hospitality, and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Old Swan Inn.
