I received a voucher for the restaurant for my birthday. I am dairy and gluten free. Normally I find going out for tea with anything GF/GF quite tasteless. This restaurant was amazing. The presentation of the tea so quaint, all proper vintage with china cups and sauces. I started on the scones, which were warm, light and fluffy and topped for the most gorgeous cream and jam. Beautiful cake and sandwiches, I could have been in the Ritz. Couldn't eat it all so was given the remainder in a bag to bring home.The lady serving us was so welcoming. Love all the vintage stuff and the lovely hats for pictures. The background music was so memorable. Booked this feeling dubious because of the âbottomlessâ advertising but cannot STRESS ENOUGH it has been easily the most value for money package deal I have ever had! The staff were so friendly and welcoming - Chantelle & Michael. The Halloween games we played were so fun and gave us a chance to make friends with the other people who were here! I was invited for dinner event.I got a great vibe after walking in.The bar was superb,great selection of gins.The starters were delicious,duck liver mousse,smoked salmon roulades and pumpkin soup in shot glasses.The flavours were just amazing.As a starters we had double baked cheese souffle.I couldnât have it,i had melon with sorbet.But i was told it was wonderful.So jealous.Then main arrived,chicken chasseur was cooked to perfection and boosting with flavours.And the chocolate brownie with ice cream was the perfect finish.I will definitely come back and i will tell all my friends about this amazing restaurant.x

Great food at great price. Service from the waitress/manager is friendly and exemplary. The cooking is always fresh with quality ingredients. I have eaten here many times now and my wife loves it too. The staff make you feel so welcome. Caters for all ages. I have eaten in most cafes in Boscombe and this is by far and away the best. Exceptional food at very reasonable price. I thoroughly recomend you try eating here.

Loved Renoufs. We had a platter between the 2 of us and a couple of wine flights. Loved the foo, everything on the platter had been put together thoughtfully, as an example the humus was particularly tasty and all the ingredients were very high quality. Enjoyed the wine flights.

Excellent experience. The food was amazingly good. I had the steak burger it was the best burger I've ever had. My husband had pork belly he was very happy with his good also. Roots is all about its tasting menu. in our two visits to the restaurant, we have been delighted by the quality of the menus on offer. The ingredients are of a high quality, and the preparation and presentation are almost obsessively good. The resulting dinners are delicious. My inability to eat white fish was accommodated without any fuss. The maitre d' and the other staff can be a little overwhelming on occasion, but the whole experience IS an occasion, to be fair. The restaurant is comfortable and uncrowded. Being as much a gourmand as a gourmet, I could eat Roots' bread for ever. Book a table and enjoy the experience - I feel sure that you will not be disappointed.

Went here yesterday while in Winton . never stopped in Winston before, so everything here was new to me. Hadn't had breaky since leaving Bournemouth hotel so wanted a bite to eat and found this little spot by chance just by glancing down a road. All the staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming, seemed to know their local crowd well as they were chatting with everyone. I had the big breakfast and it was really nice, filled me up for the rest of the day ! Have to say that the quality of the ingredients as well was excellent - the bacon and sausages especially were beautiful. For what they charge considering that you're getting such good quality food is really good - could be charging more in my opinion.I visit Bournemouth quite a bit for shows each year and I'll definitely stop in Winton again and pop by this cafe for something to eat once more.Thanks to all the staff & keep up all your good work ! First visit - strange mix of bar - restaurant - live entertainment ! Booked for meet up with friends but def not the place for a quiet chat ! Made worse by the noisiest table next to us in Bournemouth ! The food was good however - Would say its more of a bar with food than somewhere to go and eat - which is a shame as the food and restaurant area is nice ! Plus ordering at bar and then having to queue at the bar your meal to pay on a busy Friday night isnât the best way to get return business !! Good vibe but confused identity - seemed / felt disorganised Hi DinerSouthsea -you've hit the nail right on the head, I think - we're a bar that serves really good food, and have live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, which has been really popular with our regular clientele for the last 3 years. There's a huge welcome sign as you come in that recommends you order at the bar, although we're always happy to take your order at the table if you prefer - just ask us when you arrive, although we'll reinforce staff training to make sure we're all more aware of attention to detail as a consequence of your review so thankyou :)
