Magnific

My partner and I, with friends, have now eaten at Magnific twice; we live close by and are very pleased to have this excellent new choice in our neighborhood. Firstly, and most importantly, the food is very good: nice presentation, good quality and very well prepared. The décor is lovely: very current with a sharp bar and two stylish dining areas. And, the service is very good and attentive; just consider that eating at Magnific is an evening long affair and you will enjoy it. Alain, the owner, ensures that his guests are comfortable and looked after; he is a well known character (meant in the best possible way) as he has been in the bar and restaurant business in the area for many years and is a very personable host. His new restaurant is off to a very good start and we look forward to returning very soon. Our only suggestion: the menu card is a bit short, more choices would be appreciated especially for clients who visit on a regular basis.

The food and the service in this restaurant is good. Small suggestion would be to 'decorate' the plates a bit more. Plates could definitely use a higher level of artistic involvement. Taste is good, but the looks could use an improvement.

This restaurant is located in the main street of Lanaken in the south of Belgium. It is exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. The service is first class and it has a reasonable range of drinks. Their best asset is the waitress named Meral. She was so friendly and served us incredibly well. It made our experience that much more enjoyable. In fact all the staff were great. We went there the first time for lunch and had the most amazing baguette. It was presented in the most brilliant fashion the likes of which we have never seen before. This made us want to go back and try their dinners which we subsequently did 2 days later. We were not disappointed. The meals we had were probably the best since we left home on our holiday 4 weeks ago. Cannot rate them highly enough.Try it, and like us, you will not be disappointed

I travel a lot, but this breakfast buffet was way above I was expecting. It event included a chef making scrambled eggs, rather than the "scrambled eggs" made from powder you find at most hotels. Huge selection, lots of fresh fruit too. And very friendly service too!

The restaurant is conveniently located by the national road and close to Maastricht. The ambiance is very good and the owner is serving himself with great enthusiasm and a big smile. The food was, overall, good. Especially the sweet bread and the goose liver. The vegetarian dishes are a bit disappointing. But the wine was very good. Overall a good experience.

What a surprise of my love. She took me out for a Jazz night and a quick bite at this restaurant. Its all I like, a beer museum in the cellar (350+beers to choose) various of hand made croquettes as starter. My favorite Antwerp stew with Belgium Fries and the real mayonnaise and and and home made “appelmoes”. And as a side witlof, with cheese and ham from the oven!!! Mennnnnn I like this. Heaven to me ❤️And for dessert the real “Dame Blanche” . This was top notch! Of course no michelin star restaurant, but the ambience, atmosphere and great service makes this a place to go. Thank you very much

Bistro Ohana sounds French-Hawaiian... The burger in the pictures gives the impression it is some simple burger joint... but nothing could be more surprising : It a superb italian restaurant!Had the ravioli with seabass. It was incredible! Also the veal-cheek was super. So don't judge a book by its cover...or a resto by its name : go and have a great meal here!Ow yeah : the chef (as I was told) is Hawaiian... so half of the name explained :-).Thank you so much for your review! We are so happy you enjoyed your meal @ our bistro.

We had not reserved we simply walked in and asked if they could accommodate us, they gave us a choice of tables so we sat beside the window facing the main road. The waiters were friendly pleasant and chatty they took our drink order and then returned for the food order, we were unsure of which wine to order and the waiter gave us a selection to try and so we choose the one we liked. We both ordered the steak and I have to say they were cooked to perfection and the presentation was excellent. The Lido has had a face life and the place looks much better, less clutter and much more appealing and relaxing, very enjoyable.

Bistro Croquant

"A light and cozy bistro serving gourmet, creative dishes that will surprise and inspire you. That's what I, Roland Philipsen, as an entrepreneur and chef have in mind"

Croquant is a cute small restaurant in a very quaint quarter of Maasticht; my partner and I had dinner at Croquant last weekend....this is a difficult review to write since although we enjoyed ourselves and like the concept of Croquant, the food was nothing more than OK, we were still hungry when we finished our meal, and thought that it was expensive. The specialty croquets and bitter balls were good (not extraordinary) and interesting in variety....shame that we could not find a mussel in the special of day mussel croquet. Our "main courses" were small plates (as correctly pointed out by our server) that were unsatisfying: my partner had the steak tartar which was good but the portion size was painfully small and my risotto was very average; thank goodness we ordered a portion of fries or we would have been starving. The deserts were nothing special. That being said, we had fun....the service was very nice (if a bit disorganized) and the atmosphere very pleasant. Will we return? Probably not - we have done it and need not return. The biggest problem is that we left hungry and ate nothing more than upgraded "frituur" food for over Euro. 100.00 for the two of us.

This is one of the occasions that one regrets having spoiled the 5 stars quotation on others. This is definitely 6 stars level. The 2 Michelin stars awarded just recently to this restaurant don't give this restaurant what they deserve : the highest level !We had a tasting menu with excellently balanced dishes and delicious combinations of delicate tastes and high quality products. I can't remember I ever had a complete menu without one dissonant. La source really made it to the top 3 of my restaurant experiences, if not thé top.We started with several little amuse-bouche. Each and every one of them was a delight. Taste, structure, combination ... everything was perfect. One of them was some cheese combination in the form of an olive. Beautifully presented and with a superb taste. See gthe pictures for the other ones. The next was hamachi and goose liver. Excellent, wow, ... Then we had haddock with oyster, passion fruit and chives. Wow again ! The main course was Dombes Duck with Mole, red beetroot and cherry raisin. What can I say - a masterpiece. The dessert was Jerusalem artichoke with pear, chocolate and sorrel. Can I have another one please ...For the sweets with the coffee, a waiter is passing by with a cart full of deliciously looking (and tasting !) delights of all kinds. One really is tempted to say : a bit of everything please..With the risk of repeating myself over and over again. This is one of the best places I've ever been. It can't be said enough. Great food, great service, great place. Thanks for the exceptional experience.
