Dal Brigante Gasparone means the Brigand Gasparone who must have been a legendary figure in the area. The evening we dined here a representative selection of Rome's gangsters and their immodestly dressed molls chose the same venue. It was, to say the least, interesting. Tony Soprano and his mates would have been right at home.But I digress, we came here for the food, not the crowd and let me say right now, the food was terrific. Simple home cooking of the slow food variety that Italians call "cucina povera" (poverty cuisine). That great Lazio speciality porchetta was being served and how could we pass it up? Porchetta is a pig whose tomach cavity is stuffed with fresh fennel, other herbs, cracked pepper and garlic cloves.then spit roasted over charcoal for 4-5 hours until its meat literally falls off its bones. Superb! This was accompanied by chicory cooked and then reheated in a pan with garlic, olive oil and chilli. For primi I had pappardelle al sugo di lepre Wide pasta ribbons with hare sauce), a mistake as the portion was so huge I needed help to finish it and so, not lose face with the locals.

We decided to visit the "Castelli Romani" and ended up in Ariccia. It was a really wonderful day especially since we found this great restaurant. We had a good local wine and porchetta and two really wonderful pasta dishes. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy.

I have really enjoyed the Cantina Palmieri. The decorations, in a vintage style, are cool. Even the toilet is fashionable.I had a sandwich with Pastrami, I would have add more horseradish but it was delicious. Also, the waitress was professional and the final bill fair! Iâll definitely go back to taste more dishes

Go out of your way to eat here. Black truffle carbonara, home made meats and breads and antipasti, friendly staff, cheap and good house wine, and I could go on. We have been coming here for decades.....it is a family-run restaurant that has grownand can serve large parties for weddings and first communions. The food is good, there is an open grill for all sorts of meats. The pasta dishes are varied, although somewhat too salty.The outside seating is a real pleasure on a hot day....last Sunday a group of us, all friends, met and spent 4 hours at an exterior table, seated under the tent covering in the shade of the marvelous forest trees all around the restaurant. A very enjoyable meal! The service could have been a bit better, there was some confusion with our order and it was rather slow, but we enjoyed each others' company and didn't mind.I noticed that there is a play area for children, so that is something to consider for families who might need some distraction for kids at a family meal!On the whole I can recommend this restaurant, for a Sunday family meal, for a special occasion, a romantic dinner or just for tourists exploring the Castelli Romani!

Died and went to heaven. Everything we had was wonderful. You can also see it's a matter of pride for the people here, and that I believe also helps the food taste so good, and also the good attention to service which all makes for a great experience. If you love your meat and pasta then this is definitely the place for you. The homemade dessertsâ are a must if you can find space in your belly. The espresso in a plastic cup was odd however but still tasted great. Thanks for the time you've been devoted to writing the review.We are very happy with your words, especially your positive experience here at our restaurant.The welcome and the excellent cuisine are good points for our vision.

Very cozy and informal. You sit on wooden long table with paper tablecloth....but the meal is very good and even the wine is not so bad. Price is low compared to the quality and quantity of food. The service is informal but warm.

We visited here with a group of 47 with a fantastic menu negotiated in advance with the proprietor. We had meat/fish option for people to chose from. Amazing seafood starter which came with an additional bowl of mussels, next a seafood linguine ,followed by a risotto with scampi. Feeling full by this point with main course to come! Great selection of grilled fish,giant prawns and stuffed crayfish all well flavoured and prepared. Meat eaters tucked into good antipasti, wild boar risotto and pasta ragú and very generous mixed grill of lamb,spicy sausage, succulent pork and kebabs. An enormous meal topped off with fruit salad with Nemi strawberries and coffee. This all for an amazing price! Good theatre in the restaurant with food finished on an open fire. Good,efficient service and every table filled with locals. If in the area, this is the place to go!

Been there more than 20 year after the last one and discover that really few things have changed...same owner, same fine mood, same good food. I personally like the pizza and the fried appetizer, and, off corse, the low price too ! Just sit down and enjoy it !
