Visited the Foxham Inn for the second time recently - the first being some 2/3 years ago. It certainly did not disappoint. Although the menu was fairly restricted and unadventurous the contents were delicious. We started with all the 'Nibbles' - olives, home-made bread and whitebait. The alter was cooked to perfection and the bread very good. We then went straight to the main menu with pork belly, gnocchi and ratatouille and steak & kidney pie, chips and peas. Again cooked to perfection and very generous helpings. After that there was no room for desserts but we did have coffee with home made apricot biscuits which were again excellent. Really an excellent experience with friendly and helpful service. Even the taped music from the 50s and 60s fitted the bill very well!

This pleasant little hotel is made even cosier by the excellent hosting skills of Gary & Carol. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are clean and fresh and the breakfast is a monster portion. You will not leave hungry, I guarantee it.Thanks guys, weâll be back!

The Greyhound is a lovely village pub which appears to have been quite recently refurbished to create a nice atmosphere and setting. We all had the Sunday lunch which was really good. All of it was really well cooked and very large portions. All the veg was hot and freshly cooked which makes a nice change compared to some places. The highlight for me was the Yorkshire puddings which were excellent. Extra gravy was also provided which is always a bonus. The pub has a good range of nice ales on to compliment the food. Another redeeming factor for choosing this pub was the service, all the members of staff were really friendly and did whatever they could to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. I'm looking forward to returning.

First visit here and it was lovely. Food was brilliant, nice out door area and restaurant. When we first went in I thought it was quite small but then when the waitress told us about the restaurant out the back I was pleasantly surprised with how big it was and itâs nice decoration

We went in last week ... We thought we would play it safe and only order a small glass of wine, a beer, and bowl of chips ... Yes.... just a bowl of chips ... firstly we were told that there would be half and hour wait ( yes just for chips ) .. then we were served our drinks in dirty glasses, and shown to sit at a table that hadnât be cleaned in 3 years ...Then to add insult to injury , they wanted £16.00 for just one bowl of chips , small red wine and one beer . Also to add,the chips had been microwaved and were disgusting. The pot of mayonnaise, looked like something I would not like to describe. Why canât these local pubs/restaurants offer clean fresh food and create an atmosphere??? The landlord should go back to doing what he does best ( working on the dustcart ) Appalling beyond belief. Big tip ... Swerve this place, carry on down into Calne and go to the Devine Cafe .The price you have quoted in your review is incorrect. If you can come back with a receipt proving this to be case I will happily refund the difference

Been in a few times with friends of an evening for a drink. They havenât really got a great selection of drinks, itâs not as fun there as it used to be. Limited seating and no atmosphere..Thank-you for taking the time to leave a review on here. This has always been such a lovely place to go For Sunday lunch but goodness it has gone downhill!! Staff are not friendly or welcoming all our glasses and cutlery where filthy! The beef was dry and tasteless with the Yorkshire pudding hard and dry not the usual veg and lovely cauliflower cheese was sadly missed , I was so disappointed as it has never let us down before. We will not be returning after many regular Sunday lunches it is such a shame.

Freddie,the Publican, has been there less than a year,and yet,in all my tears of visiting pubs, I have never known a publican to work so hard to promote not only the Ivy, but also the village community. The food is superb, and substantial, the atmosphere friendly and welcoming.His Sunday lunches are renowned, as are his weekend breakfasts! Many times he has been there on his own. A lovely, quiet setting. Food was excellent and fairly priced. Rooms generally well-appointed except one which did not have a shower and had very restricted access to the bath. Would have suited someone about 4.5 ft tall. But comfortable bed non the less. Would visit again if in the area.
