Although the name suggests otherwise, the Blue Mountains is an actual town in Grey County that consists of several small communities including Thornbury, Christie Beach, Clarksburg, Heathcote and Ravenna. The area is very picturesque and scenic in the summer months and during "apple season" in the autumn, but the town is most famous for its mountains. Tourists flock to Intrawest's Blue Mountain Ski Resort year-round for its wide array of offerings. If you aren't in the mood for skiing or snowboarding, take a stroll through Blue Mountain Village and enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes or a meal in one of the many restaurants located in the village.

Thornbury's "cornerstone" is freshened up, but like a few spots in town I feel they've missed the mark on providing something generous in portion, innovative in flavour and served with a spirit of hospitality. It fell short on all three accounts for us, again more of a drinking establishment than a must try place to eat.

Situated just outside the main village at Blue, Jozo's is generally less busy, more affordable and more laid back than the village restaurants. It's also better than many of them. The menu is not particularly large and you'll have a tough time finding something healthy, but they do a great job with what they do serve. Lots of really tasty, deep-fried treats like Parmesan onion rings, nachos and potato croquettes. Don't miss out on the smoked chicken wings. They are borderline exceptional, and one of the best things I've eaten anywhere at Blue.

I have tried this restaurant a number of times and I am done trying. Every single time they are understaffed and that leaves patrons waiting and waiting and waiting. The food is average and having to spend 2.5 hours in a restaurant for pub food (long wait to order, average wait for food, long wait for bill - even after chasing down the server) is unacceptable. Hugely disappointed.

Great location in the middle of Blue Mountain & good service ... but ... pricey with disappointing food. Daughters pasta with marinara sauce had a whole tinned tomato in the dish - no one could be bothered to chop it into the marina sauce apparently. My Aranccini (rice balls) were weirdly sweet - like they had added sugar to the rice. Carrot Sticks served with the kids chicken fingers were dry & curled like they had been sitting in the fridge for a few days ... and no one bothered to ask if we were happy with our meal. On the plus side ... Husbands burger was decent and the beet salad was nice. I get it ... it’s an awesome spot & most clients are tourists, so no need to gain loyal customers or serve fabulous food in order to keep the doors open ... but this felt like nobody cared about the quality of what they were serving & that they are happy to charge crazy prices for substandard fare. Lunch for a family of 4 cost $140.My opinion - it’s an overpriced tourist trap ... try Firehall pizza instead ... or just order a $20 glass of cheap wine, enjoy the view and skip the menu.Hello JujeGWI hope I dont come across as argumentative but a few quick points to rebut some of your assumptions-I am sorry your daughter got a full tomato, I would have hoped it obvious that we missed it while making the sauce not that youd assume someone didnt chop it up. We use whole tomatoes as they maximize flavour and freshness in the sauce. -I would guess the sweet taste on your arancicini was the balsamic glaze we drizzle on top, I do apologize for you not enjoying the flavour combination-nobody checking on your meal is a definite service miss on out part and I am truly sorry, Absolutely your server should have asked, but our management also tries to speak to as many guests as possible as we find when there is an issue we can resolve it immediately.I do take personal offence to your insinuation that we dont care. I have been in the restaurant business in the Collingwood area for almost 30 years, 17 in the Village and very much consider it my home. My kids use the attractions, we ski, bike, and hike on the hill and then enjoy the Village almost everyday. I promise you I care, and so do the people I work with. I apologize you felt like you didnt receive value on your visit, we dont have a $20 glass of wine as a side note, but I promise you had you mentioned it to the manager on duty we would have gone to great lengths to make you know we care about each and every one of our guests.I am thrilled you enjoyed the burger and beet salad, and the view, it is a magical people watching patio! I hope you give us a chance to show you how much we do actually care, but either way were glad you continue to enjoy ther village as much as we do!

When we are in Meaford on a Wednesday night we always head to The Leeky Canoe. Excellent wings, outstanding service (Kathee), reasonable prices. I have had some excellent soup here but the chicken vegetable was over spiced with an herb I couldn’t quite identify. Didn’t care for it and it was removed from the bill! Now that is customer service!

Went to the Mill for lunch and waited over 45 minutes before they came out with our lunch and gave it to the NEXT TABLE! About 10 minutes later they realized what happened and the waitress did apologize for the mix up and said they were rushing our order. After 15 more minutes we just got up and left. The hostess asked if we would like to speak with the manager and we said yes. But she made us wait as well and so we walked out.

My Canadian cousins wanted to visit the Dam Pub so we did on a visit to Thornbury. The young woman server was friendly and nice and the prices reasonable. However, my ‘Club Sandwich’ resulted in an upset stomach. The guacamole on the top half of the ciabatta was black with herbs of some sort and not the fresh green colour of the avocado that my cousin had as a side. The chips accompanying the sandwich were overcooked little bits of potato. The chicken was moist and tender. My husband enjoyed his shaved beef sandwich and my cousins enjoyed their meals. The beer was enjoyed by the two men.
