This restaurant operating since my child. The nostalgic decoration inside here still been maintained. Very good place to eat with family, and you can feel how old this restaurant . There are many dish to choose from, such as nasi goreng, mee kari, fried chicken, etc. If you like to feel the nostalgic environment, this is the place.

This is hands down, one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to in my life, and this includes restaurants in Japan. The okonomiyaki, takoyaki and ebi maki is as good as the ones in Japan. Unfortunately, this place is often full and the staff will apply subtle pressure if you sit too long there. Still the food is good enough for me to return.

Today I was disappointed with the service at this restaurant. For dinner tonight I wanted to eat fried flat noodle (fried kueh teow) with specific request that I didn't want beansprouts added in the dish. The food arrived and I discovered that beansprouts were added. So I asked the waiter to take it away and prepare a new plate of fried kuih teow. The next plate arrived with no beansprouts on top of the plate. As I started to spoon the noodles I saw beansprouts and then I found more and more beansprouts. I was very disappointed and still am. I complained to the cashier, however you and I should know that as customers we have our rights to place our orders. If the restaurant can't comply, they should state earlier rather than giving us something we don't want.

My family and I had very high impression on this restaurant as we had been reading and listening to good reviews. Let me tell you more about our experience. We were warmly welcomed by the staff as we were entering the premise. The staff showed us our table and helped to bring a baby chair.Menus were distributed and we placed our orders. Then we waited for the food to arrive. Waiting we did. One by one orders were sent to tables where the customers came later than us. Finally, I could not wait any longer and I asked the waiter, he said the food was being prepared. Then came the list of order and on it the time was 8.00pm. We had placed the order around 7.40-7.45pm, and the staff only keyed in our orders at 8.00pm. No wonder our orders were late. Again I asked the waiter the reason for it and he mumbled that the staff at the counter didn't key in the order. Then, one waiter came and asked whether we wanted the dessert to be served straight away or after the meal. We requested the dessert to be served ASAP. The dessert never came until after we had finished our food. My wife was informed that it took 20 minutes to prepare the dessert but no one told us this fact when we placed the order.Food : fried chicken breast with BBQ sauce was just OK. Presentation wise, the plate looked good but the fried chicken was like any other fried chicken. Over generous BBQ sauce spoiled the taste of the chicken. American breakfast was bland there was no flavor to the food. Ham and bacon were not flavorful. The portion for both food was quite small for the price. Drink : hot caffe latte was acceptable while iced fredo was served in small glass, but the price was high. You can get bigger size iced fredo at Blackwood cafe. Plus points : very nice ambiance. The room is well lit, the distance from one table to another is far enough to enough to ensure comfort. The air is well circulated. There's a separate open air section to cater for smokers. Minus points :Service was below average. Refer my experience above. Salutation to customers Pak cik (Uncle) or Mak cik (aunt) - customers should be greeted properly, they are not your family members. One of the food ordered didn't arrive at all.

Recently went for a dinner here but came to know their chef gone back to India and now no more Indian food available except for rice dishes. No chapatis and parathas anymore. This condition is expected to last for three months at least. Closing the kitchen also early. Going there just for a banana leaf is not promising anymore and that too made by local chef not so appealing. Very less people around and looked almost vacant during peak hours. Waiting for the good old days for this place...

Almost everyday we dine here from breakfast to lunch and once for dinner. Great food and lots of choices. From Indian to malay food. Staffs very attentive and hardworking bit to forget, very friendly. I strongly recommend this restaurant if anyone visits alor setar Taman Astana.

Many Thai dishes are available but not that many as in those premises located in big buildings. This is more of a rustic nature, building surrounded by trees and ponds. The fish dishes can get your appetite to enjoy the day. But do not forget the special egg preparation.. fried "Telor Chak Om". Added special leaves! You may want to take extra for your family at home!

The name of this seafood restaurant posting should add Corner after seafood as thereâs seem to have 2 on the TripAdvisor listing. The rabbis expensive: $120 ringgit per kg kind of paying in Singapore. The lobster seemed to be popular but also expensive. Ordered few lobster and cost around $600 ringgit.. the salted egg lobster kind of dry and believed overcooked. Chilli crab looks average and steamed fish kind of blend. Vege are good and chicken is tasty. Kind of not so value for money for 13 of us at $1500 ringgit!
