A well-rounded welness-stay
Reviewed By Thomas2000NLWe stayed at the lifestyle resort for one night and really enjoyed it. The food, the staff, the room, the ambiance and the wellness are all sehr gut! We did think the clothing-protocol in the wellness was a little weird (to us Dutchmen), however the variety and cleanliness of the Spa made up for it! Perhaps one minor detail concerns the size of the saunas - they were quite small and often could only fit two people. With the size of the resort and the number of people that stayed, this often resulted in doors of saunas being opened at the regular, without having any way of communicating that the sauna was full. Other than that, fantastic! We will definitely return for the welcoming staff, the great food and the both beautiful and soothing location of the resort.

The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was modern and nicely appointed - bathroom products were rituals which were a pleasant change from the usual cheap products you get. The bathroom and bedroom both had radiators fitted which you could control. The buffet breakfast in the morning served with a choice of eggs ordered from the waiter was plentiful and very fresh and nicely laid out. Shame we were there just one night!

It was absolutely perfect, a real fairytale, beautifully decorated room, so much attention to detail and the jacuzzi was just divine. We also had a 3 course dinner included in the price and had lovely conversations with the waiter and other guests of the hotel. Breakfast was really special and plentiful, with rolls, filled doughnuts, smoked salmon and even sparkling wine. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our marriage. I will always think back of our beautiful time here which was the cherry on top of the cake for our wedding.

Anniversary Getaway
Reviewed By 179tiffanybWe stayed here for our anniversary to get away for a couple of days. We rented ebikes, through the hotel, and biked along the mosel both days. Our room was in the annex building across the street from the main hotel. Our room was comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the Mosel. We rented a "superior" room with a steam shower, which we never completely figured out how to operate. There was a small fridge, a nespresso machine, a safe, robes and slippers provided for use during our stay. Although we didn't get the room I had thought I was reserving, we were happy with it. The hotel owners were great, very helpful and responsive. We ran into a couple of issues with one of our rental bikes, but Dirk was patient and helped us as much as possible to resolve the issues. The breakfast was fantastic, and they did a great job with the social distancing requirements. The hotel has a great location and we really enjoyed our stay.

Reviewed By S_HvassThis hotel is the best. We stayed here for a week while hiking on the Moselstieg. The hotel has a great location close to the bridge. It is rather new and everything is extremely well maintained. Our room was really nice and cozy, and we loved the balcony facing the courtyard, where we could sit at night even when it rained. The shower was nice and spacious. Despite up to 40 degrees celcius the aircon still kept the room cooled. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was good. We felt welcome and relaxed here, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Bernkastel-Kues again.

Staff was nice and friendly. Good wifi. They have room for parking outside. There is also a sauna, whirlpool and fitness room at the hotel.

Reviewed By NLcycleNice, decent hotel, with a free parking across the street. It is a bit of a traditional hotel, the staff is friendly, rooms are a bit old fashioned but spacious and clean, just as you might expect. So nothing fancy, in case you were looking for that.

Reviewed By Kate RAn overnight stay on our way to the ferry in Rotterdam. We usually stay at the Moselblumchen but couldn't get a room. We will certainly use the Alt Cues in future. The room was clean, comfy bed, good shower, free parking and an excellent breakfast. The walk along the riverbank to and from the centre was another plus with the Egyptian geese and barges on the river.

Lovely views and central location
Reviewed By YorksClareWe booked at the last minute as we were returning from quite a disappointing hotel in Switzerland. We knew we wanted to be on the Mosel as we travelled through ten years ago and loved the area. The lady who owns this lovely little hotel was very friendly and helpful, found a safe place to store my boyfriend's expensive bikes, and gave us a choice of rooms. Either a big room but only a partial view, or a bijou double room with a lovely view. We chose the lovely view! All the rooms are very nicely decorated, tasteful and clean. Our room had been very cleverly furnished to cope with the small size. The bathroom was definitely small and our choice of view over space was only possible because we are not terribly big people. Anyone much more portly might have regretted it, but we were given the choice. It suited us perfectly well. The breakfast is typical German, with cold meats and cheese, freshly hard-boiled eggs regularly restocked, yoghurts, all sorts of bread, jams, a couple of cereals, coffee and tea. The balcony and terrace are a perfect place to admire the view and have a glass of house wine, which you can buy by the bottle using the honesty book. There is essentially no parking available at the hotel, though you can get a special parking permit from the hotel to use the carpark by the river for far less than the normal ticket would cost. There are a lot of stairs to climb, or you can take a more gentle walk up the slope through the medieval town. It isn't far, and if you have big bags to unload it is possible to drive up to the hotel to unload, though the street is small. Not for nervous drivers. The wi-fi is free (look for "gast" in your wi-fi browser) but it works best in the breakfast room. It might work in the bedrooms but we were having a problem with our network anyway on the main day of our stay. There is a restaurant directly across the small street from the hotel, (I did wonder whether it was actually linked to the hotel - it seemed that way but I am not sure) which serves basic German lunchtime type meals. They serve all day, the food is lovely and the older gentleman who is the chief waiter is a fantastic character. You must try their very boozy Becker ice creams - we recommend the Morellabecker. It will make the waiter's day if you try to chat in German, and I suspect he adds an extra dash of liqueur to your ice cream if you do.
