Central location at the market square
Reviewed By Erik1964Downtown location, spacious room, clean. No breakfast served but at the ground floor is a café which will be open if you're checking out late. Bautzen is a nice town to plan your stop-over when you are travelling to Poland or even further. And this pension is a very affordable and very nice place to sleep. Several restaurants nearby.

Christmas in Bautzen at Alte Gerberie
Reviewed By Richard HStayed for five nights mid-December, 2018 to experience the Christmas Markets in Bautzen, Gorlitz, Lobau and, finally, Dresden. Bautzen is a lovely small town with beautiful boutique-style shops and quaint restaurants. The town was done up with large and small Christmas trees and low-key Christmas lights. The hotel, Alte Gerberei is located at the base of a picturesque medieval tower that had previously formed part of the city walls. My room at the hotel was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was B&B style in either of two cozy dining areas. My host, Kathrin, was friendly with a "Guten Morgen" and breakfast. The hotel is centrally located approximately midway between Gorlitz (worth a visit) and Dresden (obviously worth a visit). Overall, my stay at Alte Gerberei was as relaxing and enchanting as I had hoped it would be and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a similar, relaxing holiday during the Christmas season.

Reviewed By Erona72Stayed for 1 night in family room in June, 2019. Modest hotel but overpriced. Pros: - good location - nice, green neighbourhood. Windows overlooking small, private gardens - free but overpacked parking - reasonably priced drinks in a restaurant. Cons: - no AC. Unbearable heat in the roof rooms. Besides that it is impossible to open the window in full in kids room due to safety reasons. - Bed linen in kids room - 100% polyester. UNBELIEVABLE! We were lucky - were given cotton linen after the first request. - poor breakfast - no warm dishes, except of steamed sausages. Restaurant seems outdated, not very clean, lots of flies - even flypapers hanging down in the visible areas. -The garden also needs some more care and update.

Small but convenient, well worth the price
Reviewed By r0nnellukConveniently located small pension style hotel in the centre of Bautzens old town. Parking is on site. Room small but comfortable, with TV and bathroom, very clean. Breakfast is however excellent, hot and cold continental. Friendly, helpful staff. For the price well worth a visit.

Quiet Retreat
Reviewed By TexasEllMy husband and I accidentally found this pension when we decided to stop off in Bautzen to find something for lunch. We parked and walked along to see if there was some place we could eat and be on our way. We saw this place and stopped in. There were few people in for lunch, but we figured since it was not in the heart of the bustle, it was just overlooked. We loved our lunch! Soup and salad for me, and soup and housemade sulze for my husband. Then he decided that we should consider staying the night (after some business fairly nearby). They had a room available, so we booked it and went on our way. When we returned, we were escorted to our room. It was a lovely large room very nicely furnished. Kingsize bed, very nice, modern bathroom, and even a little kitchenette, if we had decided to use it. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant that evening, just to be able to relax after a day of driving. Dinner was even better than lunch. They have a rather small selection, but what they have they do very well! The price of the room (€62) included breakfast, which was all laid out for us at our table the following morning. It was very nice. We were very happy about stumbling upon this little place! The only downside is that they don't have wifi, but certainly worth every cent.

Frühstück extrem nett angerichtet in einem Nebengebäude. Haben gegen Gebühr auf Kirchplatz in 100 m Entfernung geparkt. Klare Empfehlung, kann absolut unbedenklich gebucht werden, super Preis-Leistung! Wir haben angeregt noch ein paar Fotos einzustellen, weil es sonst so komisch wirkt ohne ...
