Authentic sweetnesses, beautiful setting and so much care is all over. Daniela explained us a great tour to drive in our land rover in the mountains, and that gave an experience for life! Beautiful chestnut groves, grassy hills and rocky mountains. She cooks the best Italian food based on quality ingredients and love. It is SO tasty. The place is founded on an idea to have as little environmental impact as possible. You feel as one with nature here.

The staff (Roberto!) was always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was rich and would have satisfied all tastes. I can imagine how beautiful this hotel is in summer!

Covid has been very brutal to this part of the world so hospitality and smiles are both plentiful. The hotel is simple luxury. Do not expect the excess of city hotels but be indulged by the scenery. Menu is limited but what they do is perfectly fine. You will feel in complete balance and not least relaxed after a dip in the indoor thermal pool, where you may also enjoy drinks or coffee on the very neat poolside . You WILL enjoy it!

Reviewed By andi12588This house used to belong to my family for centuries; Giorgio had bought it from my great uncles many years ago. The house had fallen to despair and needed some TLC. Giorgio brought this house back to life! His attention to detail really shows when you walk through the rooms and see how beautiful they are. We have come back to stay here twice since he has taken it over and he is so kind and hospitable. He gave us a full tour and sat down with us to hear the stories that my family remembers about the house. The exterior is exactly what you imagine a Tuscan home would look like. The garden in the front is beautiful and there are tables so you can sit and enjoy the view. The rooms are just perfect: well maintained, clean, bright and updated. Giorgio himself is one of the kindest and warmest souls I have ever met. He makes a beautiful breakfast spread every morning and is more than happy to do so. He is knowledgeable about the area and places to go see. His accommodating nature makes you feel like your staying with family. Grazie per tutto, Giorgio!

We were updated to a suite, very comfortable and spacious with a magnificent river view (recomend Shelley suite) beautiful surroundings, with lots of attractions around. Dinner was impressive ? and very sophisticated! Great value for money!

Reviewed By Julie CI had a two night break at the villa Luchesse, it was excellent from the start to finish. The room was designed to be interesting and functional. It was peaceful with full access to the beautiful garden. The hostess Irini was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and catered for every need. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of savoury and sweet to choose from . Highly recommend would certainly stay again

Such a fantastic location, such a cosy place to stay and with such great hosts. We couldn't recommend highly enough! A brilliant location less than an hour from Lucca with charming views and set in a quiet, pretty and peaceful location and also close to the charming town of Bagni di Lucca. We arrived late on our first day and Roy had cooked us a fantastic meal which was a great start to our stay. The property is beautiful, very clean, comfortable, cosy and situated in a peaceful and friendly hamlet on the hilltops with lovely views and very friendly residents within the village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't thank Shirley and Roy enough for their kindness and attentiveness throughout our stay - nothing was ever too much. Roys cooking was the icing on the cake - great food and top chef! A great place to stay and we will always come back!!

Reviewed By Pioneer34154927134We had a truly wonderful stay at Villa Rosalena - and the service, help and kindness we received from Rod and family was second to none. As a family group (7 adults and 17 month old infant) we rented the whole top floor, garden (+BBQ) and pool - and it suited us perfectly. Four en-suite bedrooms and communal rooms (living room, dining room and kitchen) meant the accommodation was the perfect size. We spent many hours on the veranda enjoying the stunning view over the beautiful valley below. The villa was very safe for our toddler grandson and the climb up posed few problems even for me (as I have a disability). There are lovely restaurants (and other amenities) in Bagni di Lucca - and public transport links mean that Lucca and Florence are in easy reach. The pool was just right for us. We had the perfect holiday! Special mention must go to Rod who was extremely helpful to us - even taking us to the supermarket to do our shopping!! He was a wonderful host - approachable and friendly - but only there when you wanted him to be. We had a wonderful time in Bagni di Lucca and would encourage others to visit what is a very engaging part of Tuscany.

Reviewed By megsboyStayed here for a week for a conference recently. Gianpaolo, the proprietor, who speaks very little English, had lost our booking when we arrived. Mercifully he later found it and moved us to a bigger room - that is to say a smallish rather than a minuscule room. Breakfast is sparse but cheerful, and the whole atmosphere is of a place no longer quite "at itself". Infinitely obliging service around the language barrier -- (well my fault for going to Italy with virtually no Italian) --and handy enough for anyone wanting to get out and about. I liked the place, but would rather be back at the top of the hill another year.
