Eine kleine Gaststätte, kleine aber dafür gute Karte und ich bin mir sicher, dass die frischen Lebensmittel aus dem hauseigenen Bauerngarten stammen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Invited for a dinner by friend. We did nice 6 km walk from Fröhnd-Hof (we´ve been there for one week holliday) here before and after the dinner. Excellent cuisine, high quaility of food and food presentation. Friendly and interested staff. Definitelly will try to go back again.

When sitting at the window you'll have a nice scenric view over the valley. The meal is just average, but not bad. The salad was fresh.

Wie schon bei unserem letzten Besuch in diesem sehr empfehlenswerten Gasthof wurden wir auch diesmal rasch, kompetent und freundlich bedient. Das Essen war wirklich sehr fein (siehe Fotos). Auch unser braver Hund, der die ganze Zeit ruhig und von den anderen Gästen unbemerkt unter dem Tisch lag, war willkommen. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf unseren nächsten Ausflug nach Herrenschwand!

From the outside the restaurant does not look incredibly inviting. However the interior does not look like much either. Why go here? Go for the food and the friendly down to earth honest service. This restaurant has a heart and a soul. A good menu everything is cooked from scratch. The staff is extremely well trained. Personal wishes are fulfilled. This time I enjoyed the wild garlic (Bärlauch) maultaschen. Delicious and well made. he wild garlic soup was good perphas a little less salt for my tasting but all together this was really good. Half way through our 11k walk up to Hochkopf this was a very welcome place to sit down, take a break, drink a beer and use the restroom. The day was sunny so we were sitting out in the garden. Old school interior.

Halte avec des collègues motards et nous avons dîné dehors. La nourriture est très honnête et le personnel aux petits soins et parlant les 3 langues. Rapport qualité prix diabolique (super). Moi, j'ai bien aimé et c'est ce que je recherchais: une pause tranquille dans en pleine forêt Noire.

Wir wurden sehr lieb empfangen und bis zur letzten Minute verwöhnt. Das Essen war sensationell; ein Gruss aus der Küche, welcher als ein eigener Gang bezeichnet werden könnte sowie ein 4-Gänger, was echt qualitativ nicht zu übertreffen ist und dies für 45 Euro!Gerne empfehlen wir das Restaurant weiter in der Hoffnung, dass auch wir wiederum einen Tisch finden werden. Bis zum nächstenmal.

We had a fantastic evening here. Great local food, great drinks and lovely atmosphere in the outdoor seating area. The interior was also lovely and the service was very good indeed. One of the best meals we had during our stay in Todtmoos.

really ?a bit more effort please. this place isn't even a one horse town, more like a mini-pony rest stop in the middle of nowhere -one shouldn't expect much, but at least better than this,even i spoke better german than the ost-bloc waitress, who didnt follow my query if the espresso machine was pushbutton automat - not in german, english, french, sign-language or any other main european( not east) language-so i looked myself- it is/was.ok- and the kind of coffee? had to ask- no big deal. she did not know either.double espresso- typical, nothing special but ok. just ok. brought directly though!> - food! quiche on special according to table cards- no.not available. Ok... went over to the attached bakery and requested a tart.it was made of this commercial blaetterteig -not even a real pastryvery disappointing.prices were average so no great savings to make the inconvenience or bad coffee/pastry more palatablegive this one a miss... one or maybe 2 other options if u find yourself relegated to this corner of dunkelville... i doubt that anyone who found this place "lecker" has any experience outside of these forest valleys.
