Good family run hotel, with very nice garden
Reviewed By Boudewijn dThe hotel lies in the center of Bad Laer, a sleepy small town in lower Saxony. It is nicely decorated and very well maintained with spacious rooms. I would recommend rooms with a balcony at the garden. All usual amenities are there, including a very nice indoor swimming pool. Breakfast is great, for just € 9! Friendly personnel, it is just a grear place to relax!

Reviewed By Anja DEs gibt wenige so grandiose Hotels. Angefangen beim Personal,die durchweg freundlich sind,über den Chef,der jeden Wunsch erfüllt,den er erfüllen kann,über die tollen Zimmer mit Elektrokamin,Balkon,Sofaecke,großem Bett ohne Ritze,dem kleinen aber feinen Wellnessbereich bis zum kompletten Essen. Das Frühstück ist die erste Freunde am Morgen;die Auswahl ist riesig,Eierspeisen werden frisch und nach Wunsch zubereitet und wer hier nicht satt wird,ist selber Schuld. Am Abend gibt es eine große Auswahl an selbstgemachten Salaten und die Suppe/ Hauptspeise sind sehr schmackhaft und gut gewürzt. In diesem Hotel stimmt wirklich alles. Wir sind mehr als begeistert!!

Cute little hotel with a wonderful SPA
Reviewed By Milena BThe guest house of the hotel Storck is absolutely stunning.We had a beautiful attic room.The bathroom had a bath with hydro massage.There is a varied breakfast at the hotel.The swimmingpool is a bit old.The hotel has an amazing SPA center with 3 types of sauna(Swedish,Salt and Bio-Alpine),there is a beautiful relaxing room as well.The only uncomfortable thing is that the SPA CENTER is in another building,5 minutes walking from the hotel.Bad Laer is beautiful small town.You can enjoy walking by the beautiful park with a lake there.I absolutely recommend the place and the hotel.

Great vacation place, bad WLAN
Reviewed By FRuudynice, surprisingly "large" hotel. Friendly staff, nice room with balcony and good bathroom. Breakfast buffet good so nothing to quarrel - except the WLAN. Very unreliable and typically slooooow. Occassional sprints didn't help with VPN and remote desktop so stay away if you want to work online whilst staying. I found it impossible plus signing in is awkward but possible, on a mobile phone it is straightout ugly. As said, other than that a nice place to stay unless you are taller then 1.90 because beds do have bottom ends so you can't stick your feet out.

Nice escape for the weekend!
Reviewed By Urs40The reason for choosing this hotel was to celebrate my husband's anniversary with his children (adults). We preferred to stay at a location where indoor activities were available: sauna and swimmingpool (in case of bad weather). Pool is ok and the sauna area is clean and well maintained. The rooms are comfortable and clean, beds are great and there is enough space for your luggage. Breakfast is very good as well as the menu for diner. Good ambiance in the restaurant and friendly staff. We loved the food and the wine very much, so we decided to visit the restaurant both days! We missed a good vibe in the bar in the afternoon: no staff to look after the guests, so to order an aperitif we had to search for somebody. In general I would suggest to make sure the bar is a more lively spot to go for a drink. The hotel is located in the small center of the village Bad Laer, next to a lovely park and the forest. Perfect area for running, walking as well as for discovering the region. You can easily park your car in front of the hotel (free).

Okay but...
Reviewed By Anja VOverall speaking this hotel was okay. The room was furnished rather simple and practical, nothing special. Though I'm told that's German standard - I haven't stayed much in German hotels and I'm used to more charming rooms in English B&B's. Anyway, our room here was on the first floor, there was an elevator (though we didn't use it). The room had a balcony, that was very nice. The en-suite bathroom had a shower that didn't work properly. The water switched from cold to scalding hot and back in the matter of seconds and you really had to be careful not to be burnt. It definitely needs improvement. So does the staff, I have to say. The two women who served breakfast were friendly enough but the young man who first welcomed us on our arrival... well, I think he said no more than five words. He let us carry our luggage around while showing us where breakfast wound be served, where the pool was etc... and then he sent us to our room (he didn't even mention that it was on the first floor, we had to search for it). Very unprofessional, I must say. Breakfast was nothing special. I've had better. There was next to no choice in cereals, and the cheese... it wasn't to my liking. There was however a good choice of bread, rolls, jam, fruit, yoghurt... it wasn't that bad. Still, I don't think I'll stay here again.

Goedkoop is duurkoop
Reviewed By Johan2013Wat een trieste bedoening. De eerste prijs lijkt redelijk, maar daarna is het ook niets. Avondeten wat de pot schaft, ouderwetse kamers, douches, maar dan ook alles. Oude tv, niet werkende afstandsbediening, ontbijt karig, geen verse broodjes, waar ze toch om bekend zijn in duitsland. Hadden langer gepland maar eerder weggegaan. Ze probeerden nog weer meer te vragen dan de afgesproken prijs voor de kinderen. Dit is geen echt hotel, is een soort rusthuis voor gasten en personeel.
