We dropped into this little gasthof for a late lunch, after a hike in the mountains. It is conveniently located about 1K from the base station of the chairlift. We were welcomed onto the terrace by the friendly waitress, and enjoyed excellent salads, washed down with beers. Gave us strength to continue our walk up the valley to our hotel in Gaschurn. Strongly recommended.

After a 9-mile hike over Versettla and Madrisella, we staggered into this friendly outdoor mountain bar at around 4.00pm. But lunch was still available, and we had an excellent and reviving goulasch soup. The party was already in full swing, with plenty of raucous toasts, celebrating the day's achievements in the hills. Great atmosphere, surrounded by cows with bells, and just around the corner from the chairlift back down to the valley.

Schöner kleiner Berggasthof, den wir immer wieder besuchen, wenn wir im Silbertal sind. Wir wurden immer freundlich bedient und auch das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut gemacht. Dazu noch die tolle Aussicht und ein Mittagessen, besser kann man es nicht haben. Wir kommen immer wieder und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Macht weiter so â¦â¦.

Neben den klassischen Speisen (Grillteller, Schnitzel, ...) legen wir sehr viel Wert auf Kreationen, welche bevorzugt aus heimischen Grundprodukten bestehen. Ob das Wildragout aus den heimischen Wäldern, den Käsespätzle oder der "Sura Kees" im Speckmantel mit feinen Salaten und und Balsamico, es ist sicherlich für jeden etwas Passendes dabei. The Kapell Restaurant I know since almost 40 years. We always go in the 1. floor "service" area. Food is good, service staff over the top and super fast. Ambiente is nice. When the weather is nice they have a beautiful terrasse.The only thing I really don't understand in the year 2016 is the non existent wlan. This would be so easy to adjust!However if you are used to go in Switzerland to restaurants, than the price you pay for lunch is very fair here!!!

Der Berggasthof ist insbesondere im Winter zu empfehlen. Das Team ist unglaublich schnell und die Speisen sind gut. Mein Favorit sind die Käsespätzle. Sie werden mit Kartoffelsalat gereicht.

The Gasthof zum Kreuz is situated in the center of Schuns' small fussganger zone (walking area). The lower level of this gasthaus is a more informal restaurant which has a more limited menu and, as other reviewers have noted, allows smoking. The upper level is traditionally decorated with an eye towards the preservation of a really attractive dining area. The night I ate at zum Kreuz, dining parties were evenly split between those sharing fondue (broth and cheese) and those ordering separate entrees. I had a local fresh cheese filled dumpling that was basically a Tyrolian ravioli and a local beer. My dumpling was clearly homemade and the filling had excellent flavor. The menu includes a hassenpfeffer that was supposedly Ernest Hemingway's favorite dish when he ate at zum Kreuz during his sojourn in Schrunns.
