Classic Austrian dishes, but made correctly. Large portions. It is nice to have a meal in the main square of the city, which is blocked by car.

Predictably terrific motorway restaurant by this fantastic chain. My tuna baguette sandwich and espresso were both excellent. As usual with this chain, the staff were all in national costume and the loos, which you usually pay for in Central Europe, were free.

A group of 4 Ate here 5th August after our Air BnB host had recommended this restaurant. We had gone out of our way to eat here, but We regretted not choosing one of the many restaurants we walked past on the way to get here.We asked the waiter to recommend us food on the menu (we have not eaten Austrian food before) but he said he wouldn't because he was too busy....Bemused by the rude service, we ended up just ordering 3x Wiener schnitzel, Pork medallions and strudel. Food was okay, we'd eaten nicer meals during our holiday. Service we found rude, the waiter did not make us feel welcome.We've never had a waiter refuse to talk to about the menu because they were 'too busy'. Needless to say we did not leave a tip.I didn't take a photo of the food as there was not much beauty to behold, so here is a photo of some cows and Dachstein mountains I took earlier in the dayDear Becky,thanks for your review. This place has such a "ruf" or reputation that I simply had to try it, the restaurant itself is beautiful, classy and stylish. The service is excellent if a bit pretentious. The food for the most part lacked that certain something, and I have eaten a number of the best restaurants in Austria, not to mention elsewhere. There is also no set wine accompaniment so you end up paying a small fortune when you have had your aperitif and wine with each course. If I pay a small fortune I expect the best, sadly, this was not the case, my husband was of like mind. There was just something missing, taste wise. otherwise it was lovely.

The restaurant can be reached by either horse carridges, which can be booked in the village at 'Fiakerhof', by footwalk (approximately 100 minutes) or by taxi. The air is fresh and healthy, herds of deers and chamois live in their natural habbitat and can be observed at the edges of the forrest on the way or at the opening of the steep slopes. The restaurant is the upper of the two which lie at the foot of a mountain chain that ends right at the destination. It boasts a terrace wich invites to enjoy the beautiful view and take a sunbath as well as a playground for children. Inside, the interior consists of traditional handcrafts which also relate to hunting and landscape pictures. An open fire place warms nicely and rounds up the warm and comfortable atmosphere. We had deer and fish which both tasted great. Service was helpful and attentive.

We dined inside after hiking the beautiful lake. Had a great trout dinner (huge silver plate), schnitzel, beers, and strudel. Gorgeous view and good service.

The Oberhofalm is at the top of the scenic road from Filzmoos. You are surrounded by rocky peaks. You can get up, even in winter, by car (with great snow tires), by horse drawn carriage, or on foot. We walked and the hike made us ready to eat! The food is wonderful, especially the grilled sausage plate with smashed potatoes and sauerkraut. It was busy when we arrived but quieted by the time we were finished. I only put 4 stars because our server (who is one of the owners) didn't seem all that interested nor attentive. The food was great as were the drinks (hot chocolate with rum and an after-meal schnapps).

Winterstellgut located high in the Dachstein mountains near Annaberg is one of those magical places. Breathtakingly beautiful with majestic views. On a bright sunny day sitting on the patio enjoying a sumptuous meal, simply divine. The cuisine matches the location in being superb and outstanding. From the delicious soups, excellent salads and appetizers to the delicious mains. Not to be missed are the outstanding deserts. The Kaiserschmarrn was one of the best I've had. In true Austrian fashion, the service and staff are very warm, welcoming and attentive to your needs. Overall, a must to visit and enjoy the magnificence of the surrounding beauty and outstanding cuisine.

During our stay in St Martin we visited K2 three evenings in a row because it was so delicious! The venue is a cozy gem hidden in this little town! The atmosphere is modern and cozy with black and white photographs on the walls, wine shelves, and comfortable leather armchairs! The staff is friendly and polite, and on the third evening it felt like we were visiting some old friends!We tried the asparagus and parmesan soup, the beef soup, the chicken salad, Wiener schnitzel, cheeseburger, Asian wok, the chicken wrap, risotto with asparagus and fish, as well as the three sorbets! Kudos to the risotto! The best I have eaten not to mention that my partner ate half of it and he ears neither asparagus nor fish. Apparently, he eats them when they are that tasty! I can't wait to go back to K2!!!Greetings to the waiters and the chefs!
