Reviewed By 294anyatMy mom and I had a wonderful experience when we stayed last October. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent. They even made us homemade soup when we caught a cold. Can't recommend this Hotel enough!

Reviewed By jaroslavu971Classic hotel in old house in the centre of Attendorn city. Parking place nearby - very useful. Very good breakfast with many kind of teas, coffee, pastry, salami, cheese. Room were clean. Bed was not so comfortable, very soft mattress. Poor wifi signal.

Great hotel for our business trip
Reviewed By Parkrunner71Hotel Platte was an excellent choice for a business trip with several colleagues to Attendorn. The check-in was welcoming and efficient, so we were each in our rooms very soon after arriving and looking forward to our stay. The rooms are bright, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, so I managed to get a bit of work done before diner and a very good night's sleep. The rooms have a coffee machine and mini bar. An information folder is provided in English covering the local area, attractions and events, but nothing really providing information about the hotel and it's facilities so there was a bit of guess work going on when I wanted to use the pool and sauna. Times of opening for these facilities, along with those of the bar and restaurant, were provided on the key card wallet, but I wasn't sure about some of the other aspects and there was no staff in the pool/sauna area to check with. It didn't stop me though and guessed I should take the striped towel from my room and used these facilities anyway. Refreshed from my sauna I was ready for diner in the hotel's restaurant, which did not disappoint. Our meal had been pre-ordered by our hosts and proved to be an excellent choice, with tasty starter, main and dessert dishes. Each course was very tasty and obviously made from quality local ingredients, prepared and presented to a very high standard. The breakfast was equally good the following morning with a wide variety of choices, some familiar and some not so but definitely worth trying some of the alternative offerings. I really enjoyed my stay and if business brings me back to this area I will definitely stay here again, but in all honesty I suspect that I will be back for a weekend break with my wife before my next business trip.

A (K)night in the Tower
Reviewed By OtyikondoWe splurged on a Tower Room in Schnellenberg, and it was indeed rather fine. A large suite with a handsome carved ceiling and a splendidly regal bathroom, extensive views in all directions (yes, even from the bathroom), and with its own spiral staircase. Comfortable, elegant, too, but I suppose to get the full “Lord of the Manor” effect one should have had a small army of servants and valets and lady’s maids coming and going. Dinner in the restaurant was a bit curate’s eggish: the “Müllerin Art” trout was rather muddy - more like bream, really - but my venison goulash passed muster, and the tuna carpaccio starter was a fine dish. Decent wine, though a bit pricey to my way of thinking. Service was attentive. The à la carte restaurant itself is a very imposing affair, albeit with cosy corners. Breakfast was excellent, in a different and equally impressive room with large panorama windows. The whole overnight experience was very pleasant, without being utterly jaw-dropping or earth-shattering, and I was somewhat surprised to see in an establishment of this calibre that no complimentary bottles of water were provided in the room – I think this was the ONLY hotel in a two-week sojourn in Germany that failed this test, and this was comfortably the most expensive stay we had. The hotel is popular with wedding parties, particularly on Fridays, when the on-site chapel is in heavy use. There’s nothing wrong with this, of course, but one might feel a bit like an uninvited guest. There are great walks to be had in the vicinity and a generally relaxed vibe among the staff to soften the otherwise slightly “over the top” feel of the place. Convenient parking, but still a fair bit of carrying to be done – castle turrets don’t usually come with lifts! Recommended, but really only as a “one-off” thing.

Reviewed By judithf205Wenn man ankommt liegt das Hotel rechts an einer Landstraße. Es wirkt nett und rustikal von außen. Auch das Entree ist dem Stil angemessen. Das Personal freundlich. Die Zimmer sind nicht renoviert, höchstens einmal übergestrichen und Löcher sind lieblos verputzt. Das Bad ist komplett saniert und auch sehr hübsch und modern. Lediglich für Handtücher fehlt am Waschbecken meiner Meinung nach eine Aufhängung. Die Türzagen sind wiederum alt und vermackelt. Wir hatten ein Arrangement mit Halbpension. Das Abendessen war ok aber mehr auch nicht, daher gaben wir am zweiten Abend außer Haus gegessen. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und für jeden was dabei. Mehr Auswahl kann man für ein nicht so großes Hotel nicht erwarten. Der Spa Bereich wurde saniert und ist auf den ersten Blick sehr ansprechend. Auf den zweiten stellt man im Pool angemoderte Fliesen und unter der Decke wieder nur halbherzig ausgebesserte stellen fest. Der Wintergarten ist schön aber bei heißen Temperaturen stickig. Von außen klebten rund herum noch Abklebebänder dran, als ob man Hals über Kopf fertig werden musste. Außenliegen gab es vier. Ein paar Stühle, aber für den Sommer nicht genug Möglichkeiten zum verweilen. Der Aussenpool ist unter einer Glaskuppel und noch nicht nutzbar. Die Umgebung ist landschaftlich sehr schön. Vielleicht ist es im Winter passender dort zu verweilen, für den Sommer, wenn mal Wellness statt wandern will nicht.

Top camping op hoge hoogte
Reviewed By Jan dDit is een camping waar je je nog welkom voelt. Beheerder en medewerkers zijn uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam, met inchecken geen stress, geen ellenlange Mittagspause, geen eindeloze formulieren invullen. Op de bovenste plaats wat een groot weiland is een mooie plekje in het groen uitzoeken en onthaasten. Alle voorzieningen zijn bij de hand ,douche, wc, water etc. Sanitair is iets gedateerd maar wordt door de Damesploeg meerdere keren per dag schoon gemaakt.Warm water is er altijd ook voor de afwas, douchen een euro voor acht minuten. Morgens verse knapperige broodjes, krant etc. in de kleine supermarkt naast receptie. Hier is ook een campingshop gevestigd voor onderdelen en toebehoren op campinggebied. Rechts van de receptie is een Italiaans restaurant gevestigd. Hier zijn o.a. Pizza en pasta vers bereid te verkrijgen. Dit alles tegen zeer betaalbare prijzen, en u wordt geholpen door een echte Italiaan. Voor de bezichtiging van het stadje Attendorn en alle andere attracties zoals de Atta grot, Biggesee is het hebben van een e- Bike aan te bevelen. Het kan op sommige punten in Attendorn best steil zijn, niet onoverkomelijk het is maar dat u het weet. Terug naar de camping: met actie card hebben wij met 2 personen en camper 18 euro betaald. Het beste tot slot: campinggasten met een kampeerauto kunnen hier van een gratis leenauto gebruik maken, makkelijk om de omgeving te verkennen en andere steden zoals Winterberg, Olpe.
