Nice room but expensive and youth hostel breakfast

However sometimes you judge according to price and as we were desperate to stay in Bahia Inglesa we paid nearly £100! So much more than in other places. More than twice what we usually paid. If we had known we would have gone to stay in Caldera which is really nice and a cheap taxi ride away.. . Also the owner would not waive the 19% IVA which hoteliers can do if they do the. The room was nice and in boutique style so that was pleasing. The owner was offhand with us -probably as we were older (not much older than him !) When it came to breakfast next morning he did not explain how it was fixed or bother to get on his feet and show us. So we found an open air kitchen area and groped around and other guests told us how to locate bread,little boxes of ham and cheese and heat our own water on the gas and then wash up. Not dirty really but nowhere to sit and a bit icky. As someone who has travelled around the world when young I have no quarrel with laid back but this should be in a cheap places. At nearly £100 I expect much much more. Perhaps prices dive in low season and match what is offered.

Not worth the price
Reviewed By ShavyBCopiapo, not really a tourist town, but we just break our journey here after 6 hours drive. This hotel was book in advance, it has good reviews. I don't understand how people given the place a good review while it doesn't really that worth Again, we choose this hotel because they have private and secure parking. The hotel building it looks like a wall only very flat. A young girl open the door and only spanish speaking, first thing I ask she has to open the gate so we can drive in to the parking, but she want me first to write down our names (registration) on a book The parking is at the back where we have access to the room Hotel hallway is nicer than the room itself The room is not that big, we had one big bed (double) a small closet and a table with one chair, tv and free wifi inside the room The bathroom is somehow small with shower, towels, toileteries The breakfast is a joke, we didn't touched Room price is 50$ dollar with breakfast, is a bit expensive in this town which nothing much to see. But is okay for a night. The location is in the center closed to everything: shopping street, restaurants, supermarkets are nearby

Reviewed By Marcel vIt's rare that I don't recommend a place to stay. Mostly the good things prevail over some nasty things. This is not what it says to be and even more it's worse. First, everything is dusty and dirty. Second, wifi is only in the lowest way accessible in front of the office... Come on, it's almost 2020 and I can't have wifi in my room? Than about the swimming pool... Do not make me laugh. I'm not that big but just one jump would empty the pool. Than I had to lock my patio doors with a wooden stick. That safe... Perhaps my Asian standards are to high? So, drive by and go to another Hostal. The only one good thing was the shower though.

Disappointing stay
Reviewed By bryanjrollinsMy first impression of Solaris was that I had booked a room in a prison. You enter and must be buzzed in from an outside gate that surrounds the property, and the neighborhood looks pretty sketchy, with high metal gated fences around many places, but that may just be Huasco. My second impression was that my room was NOT in the main hotel, though I don’t think this was clear in my reservation. I was in a building across the street, and you needed three keys to get in and out of the building. My third impression was that the inside of the building is dark, and sterile like a crypt. The room was even darker, and the window looked at the wall of the house next door, where the neighbors played (poor quality) music most of the day but luckily stopped after 10 PM. This place is quite depressing. The breakfast was okay.

Reviewed By marti jThis hotel and restaurant is located on a top location but they do not manage it well. We only went to the restsurant on the top floor . We had a lunch a la carte. Pizzas this time. The pizza sepia was good but the pizza jamon was average. The staff is acting like amateurs, no customer focus or feeling. A shame for such a nice place.

Good hotel
Reviewed By SelmaFerThe service is the highlight in this hotel. Gloria and her team made everything for us to feel good. Good location and clean. Breakfast is very very poor for the price we've paid: no fruits, no fresh juice, instant coffee, butter, milk, toasts and slices of ham and cheese. The portions are counted by person in the room: one slice of cake, two slices of bread and 1 slice of cheese and ham. I had better breakfasts in hostels.... Beds are also very bad, mattresses, sinked in the middle and too softy.
