Arica (/əˈriːkə/ ə-REE-kə; Spanish: [aˈɾika]) is a commune and a port city with a population of 196,590 in the Arica Province of northern Chile's Arica y Parinacota Region. It is Chile's northernmost city, being located only 18 km (11 mi) south of the border with Peru. The city is the capital of both the Arica Province and the Arica and Parinacota Region. Arica has a mild, temperate climate with some of the lowest annual rainfall rates anywhere in the world, consequently there are rarely any clouds over Arica. Arica is located at the bend of South America's western coast known as the Arica Bend or Arica Elbow. At the location of the city are two lush valleys that dissect the Atacama Desert converge: Azapa and Lluta. These valleys provide fruit for export.

We picked the menu for 2. The price was 10.000 pesos, but he charged an extra 10% for services. We got 2 spring rolls, 4 won tons, one shared main dish, 2 portions of (tasty) rice and 2 medium drinks. The pollo tamarindo was more like sweet and sour sauce. But good

No es común encontrar en Chile un restaurante por kilo. Este es uno de ellos. Las alternativas son variadas y la preparación es esmerada. El lugar tiene un sello playero porque se almuerza en una terraza techada. Mis hijos y yo lo disfrutamos mucho. Especial mención hago del cebiche y el pescado frito. Recomendable.

While looking for a nice place to have lunch, my wife and I stumbled into Akun. Located inside Casa Beltran Hotel Boutique, Akun fit exactly what we were looking for. We were delighted by great food featuring a fusion of Chilean and Peruvian flavors and excellent service to boot.

We ate here twice around the holidays. Other restaurants seemed to have long lines outside, but this one was easy to get a table quickly. The service was very attentive and very good. Linen table clothes and napkins add a touch of sophistication. We had the filet mignon and shrimp entrees along with pisco sours. Food was cooked perfectly. One the one occasion the beef was not quite right, they replaced it quickly with a very acceptable one. Pisco sours are very good. This restaurant is a great choice for a nice dinner.
