The Dagshai Jail Museum

Reviewed By poonamnanda - pune

I would have never known about this place if my friends had not insisted that we should see it.The jail has an ignominious feel to it.When you see the cleverly designed claustrophobic chambers that allow no movement or maybe even worse are the dark dungeons without a trace of light.Fascinating but something that makes you sick at the pit of your stomach when you realize the horrible times and punishment meted out to the prisoners. The room where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned is another highlight.Do go see it.You will realize how lucky you are to be born in.a free country

The place is big, clean and very beautiful. There is a library and museum along with temple though I could not go due to time constraint. The road to the monastery is difficult and steep. Only professional driver or experienced driver with good confidence on hills should drive to the place. The location of Monastery is not at all Barog but it is near Ochhghat.
