There is absolutely NO Customer Service and non responsive to any needs. 10AM Checkout. They don’t answer their phones or reply to emails. They don’t even answer the phones internally in the hotel when you are trying to call reception from your room -the only point of contact is at reception, they have people who are only there to check you in or out and process payments only. Inexistent customer service - none. The reason for not answering their phones was “because they are busy” - well WE ARE ALL BUSY. That is an unacceptable excuse. They are well set up to take your money but do not want to talk to you or help you in anyway. I sent an email and left a voice message the day before arrival and they never replied to me. When I asked the manager.. the answer was they are busy, when I asked the restaurant why no one replied I got the same answer - we were trying to move our reservation to a later time and we could not get a hold of anyone for 2 days. They take a credit card to hold your reservation for the restaurant and if you cancel under 24 hours they will charge you $35 for each person, which is completely fine but what happens if someone wakes up the day of the reservation and they are sick? With “Covid” and the new rules we live under are they still going to charge you? The point is someone should be replying to messages and or emails. Very poorly run and managed. So just be aware of how they choose to operate.

I expected a clean hotel specially with Covid but this place needs to be sanitized! I wanted to cancel my reservation as soon as I got to the hotel because it felt like it hasn't been cleaned in a very very long time! The hallways, floors, walls, carpet, everything was just DISGUSTING!! When we got to our room, i really wanted to move to another hotel but couldn't get another hotel because of March Break; the hotels in the area were all fully booked and I had no other choice but stay. We drove over 2 hours to get here and got to the hotel around 8pm. We originally planned to stay for 3 days and checked out 1 day early because this hotel is GROSS!!! WE WILL NEVER RETURN HERE AGAIN!!!

HORRIBLE AVOID THIS PLACE
Reviewed By JilladiIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. Do NOT book a stay here! They will SCAM you! We booked online and immediately called to give our credit card info. The person speaking on the phone, which I believe was the owner said “Oh you don’t need to give us your info right now if you have a confirmation through our online booking. You give it to us when you check in.” We showed up yesterday and they told us they didn’t have our booking. We called the owner and he was SO rude and condescending. The daughter at the motel admitted it was their fault and it was their nephew that didn’t take our credit card info. The wife/mother of the owner was equally rude and condescending. I am surprised this place is still in business with the lack of professionalism they have. The girl also mentioned that the booking was cancelled on Friday because they got a 3 night reservation. We luckily found another motel to stay at. The owner at the other motel mentioned that motel owners avoid taking credit card information to secure your room if it’s a one night stay because once they take your credit card information they can’t legally cancel your reservation. This way they can scam you and give it to someone who will be staying for longer. Always demand to give your credit card info for any motel you’re staying at! NEVER stay at Mariner Motel if you want to be treated as a human being.

Checking in and out, is a royal pain.. you have to leave a $100 ++ deposit, you don't get that back - till the opertor - examines your room, in my case I had spilled an ounce of chocolate milk on the batroom counter and wiped it up with a towell.. the operator grilled me as to why there was a stain on his precious wash cloth. Deplorable Hosts indeed.

Reviewed By kanukidI do not ask much of a cheap motel room, but this one did not meet even my minimal standards. The bare, tiny room has NO furniture besides the two huge beds and a beat-up dresser. No chair, No phone, No glasses. No lamp except for a cold, dim ceiling light. The top volume on the TV isn't loud enough to hear from the bed (where you have to sit to watch it.) The toilet is so close to the sink that I had to squeeze between them. (I am 5'7" and slender.) The floor was dirty, but the bathroom fixtures seemed clean enough. WiFi was available only if I sat outside. There are NO restaurants "nearby." To eat, you have to drive 15-20 minutes to downtown Collingwood. Wasaga Beach is 15-20 minutes away. The "service" at check-in was terse and unfriendly. The whole experience was absolutely depressing. If all you need is a bed out of the rain for one night, it'll do, I suppose, but of all the cheap motels I have stayed in, this was the absolute worst, bar none. There are plenty of other motels in the area; any of them would be better than this, even at $110.
