Reviewed By rpremrajWe were a group of five who spent a night in this home surrounded by coffee plantation. We stayed in their 2 bedroom house, which was quite spacious and a sit-out area that overlooked the coffee estate. Although there were two bathrooms, the hot water runs only in one. The bed was comfortable and clean. You have adequate cupboards to keep your personal belongings safe. We did not see bathroom amenities and had to use our own. May be it is available on request. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city life and want to be lost in the wilderness not wanting to do anything, then this is the place for you. But, if you are looking to explore places, you will feel a bit restricted as you have to be dependent on their jeep & the driver to go in and out of the premises. About 100 meters down-hill from the home-stay, you will have uninterrupted view of the hills, which is quite picturesque. Unfortunately, this view is not available from the comfort of the accommodation you will live in. The staff who are working there are very courteous and friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate the request. The home-style kind of meals are prepared and served a-la-minute from the kitchen attached to the accommodation. But like they mention during the booking, please do not expect any kind of facilities like in a resort - not even ice-cubes to help serve your drinks.

The campfire arrangement was good. 4. There is home delivery of food. But look out for hotel you pick to order. We chose wrong one. 5. Breakfast was very good. 6. Get on roof of house to see amazing sunrise. 7. Hot water available Downsides 1. Amenities are minimal. 2. Should have provided atleast bottled water as complimentary 3. NO bathroom accessories provided.

Convinient location and penthouse/top-most floor is the best
Reviewed By 986purbitacA group of 6, we stayed in this place for 2 nights. The topmost floor had a glass penthouse and a room. There was also a terrace and sit-out and was perfect for partying and chilling around. The glass penthouse room had 4 single beds and the room has a double bed and a single bed. The room had attached washroom and there was another washroom on the terrace for the penthouse room. There was a house-hold help in the property 24*7 to assist us in need. Owner was very polite and friendly. He does not stay in the property, but is there during the day. Towels, soap, blankets, etc. was provided. Geyser is there in one of the bathrooms, the other has solar heater. Drinking water can was also given for our stay. Glass, plates, etc. was also provided when asked for. House keeping was done everyday and cleanliness was maintained throughout for rooms and washrooms alike. The property is maintained just-like-new and everything is spick and span. Food is not available here but since the location is very convinient, restaurants are present all around withing a short walking distance. Tea/coffee is arranged here. Loved the visit, no restrictions for partying and music. Would love to go back here again.

Athigiri homestay is located on the way to kemmannagindi and is centrally located between two ends of sightseeing places which are mullaianagiri, bababudangiri, jhari falls manikyadhara and on the other end kemmannagind, hebbey falls, kallahatti falls and Z view point. We also offer accommodation with breakfast lunch and dinner with bonfire and music to make the stay memorable.

Reviewed By kiranklmI don't how this homestay has more than 4 stars but my experience last week was REALLY REALLY BAD. I won't recommend this place to anybody for the reasons below. Let me point out one by one. 1. On 12th Jan Saturday, we reached chikmagalur around 1pm. ( this homestay was very prior booked, we informed that we would reach by 12 ) When we reached near Hirekolale lake, we called this person. I had my 1.8yr old kid and 55 year old mom, who are already late for their normal lunch. He told me the room keys and food is with him, and he would reach Lake in 5MINUTES.We were waiting.. Waiting. And that 5 minutes went up to 1.5 hours. He reached around 2.30 2. The Road towards homestay - we thought this is the worst road we can have - but later it proved its not. 3 Finally we reached homestay accompanying Nuthan.Our plan for that day was already spoiled and we were very hungry. 4. Again waiting .. The dining (????) area was not cleaned, rooms were not cleaned .. We were not even shown the Restrooms..we asked and he opened another ulcleaned room and told us to get refreshed there by the time he arrange food and clean the stuff. 5. Food was brought from Some low class restaurant with lot of masala - but since we were very hungry we had no option. 6. We thought to skip rest (still he was cleaning rooms and it was already evening we had to visit at least Mullayangiri on that day) and headed towards mullayangiri. Then it comes the TERRIBLE road. Around 3 kms,, there were no roads and lot of sharp bends.. It was REALLY REALLY RISKY. Just because of this road-I would say don't go this homestay While coming back, we went to town and took the long lake route, which again not so good but just better. 7.After mullayangiri, dinner was just OK, at least some stuff was fresh and I felt happy that he took some effort to prepare that. FYI, there were no cook or staff. All show was running by single person who was not so used to it, so so much delay.. He arranged fire as well 8.We told we had to leave by 8 next, and he agreed he will arrange bf before that. And the day ends. 9.morning we wake up with no power. We called him, around 7,same time he wakes up. Another 15 minutes to switch on generator Another 45 minutes to prepare morning tea. . When we estimated the time it takes to get bf from the town once after he starts at 8.we refused bf.. Its better we ourselves drive to town and have breakfast of our choice So we left around 8.40 without breakfast Overall very bad... And I want to give 0.5* out of 5.

Nice lodge at affordable prices
Reviewed By Anil SGood lodge ar affordable price. The downside is that it is oy for lodging, no boarding facility. Even tea not available. Hot water availability is restricted from 7am to 10 am only. Also it is situated on first floor so difficult for person with knee problems or with disabilities. Free Wi-Fi is available and rooms are good , neat and clean but wash room is quite small. Staff is courteous and friendly. Payment by cards accepted. Located in a predominantly Muslim area.
