Oh, We Like It Here Very Much!!
Reviewed By MikeTheGoodfellowWhat a relaxing place to get away from it all. It's like a little piece of paradise. A private cabin... more a like a quaint, boutique tantra lounge, experience. Very comfortable, very private, and the host was absolutely at our service to make sure every question or need or desire was taken care of. OMG, I miss this part of our adventure. STAY AT ASGARD SPA!! Plus, it is only a few minutes walk to the Archaeological Park. So convenient, and they made us breakfast, and arranged all of our taxis and adventures. Really a wonderful experience staying at this spa.

Reviewed By 921adriankDo not believe hotel pictures. They look better that what the hotel looks in reality. The hotel is not kept well. Swimming pool is dirty. Breakfast is of poor quality. There is nothing to do there. Rooms are small. Bathrooms are filthy. Lots of bugs. The road to the hotel is unpaved and in horrible conditions. Be careful. The town is not truly walking distance from the hotel. Rooms have no fridge so you can’t have your own water or other drinks. You will have to buy from them and pay higher prices. In my opinion stay away from Neiva, Villavieja, and Tacatoa desert. Neiva and Villavieja are filthy. There are no good restaurants or good coffee shops. Neiva is falling apart and it’s dangerous. As for the desert, it is not really interesting or exciting. Now I know that most people drive there to take a picture or two. Then they publish pictures on IG or Facebook to show off that they visited the desert. I have been to many parts of Colombia and this is the first time that I am not happy with destination that I chose.

Reviewed By DiegoU356Ubicado en el municipio de villavieja huila aproximadamente a 20 minutos del desierto de la tatacoa, se ofrece nueva oferta de hospedaje el cual consiste en unos tubos de concreto con lo requerido para un merecido descanso (aire acondicionado, ventilador y una cama cómoda). El lugar cuenta con piscina y lugar común para compartir en familia y con amistades. Recomiendo al hotel colocar hamacas y modificar los senderos peatonales.

The only place to stay in San Augustin. This place is truly amazing and has it all. Clean, spacious, and professional.
Reviewed By akrigsteinI’ve wasted too many nights in chain hostels, NEVER AGAIN. This is a mountain paradise and the only place I would recommend in Sam Augustin. The rooms and beds are extremely comfortable and the owner is so welcoming I felt like I was being treated like family. The rooms are very clean and the manager was very professional and friendly. All amenities were first class, great WIFI, breakfast was included and a perfect start to the day. The grounds are stunning with hammocks and multiple areas to enjoy the bird life and incredible vistas of the lush green hills. The place is secure and there is a small shop for anything you may need at short notice. The atmosphere is tranquil and immersive, certainly much more peaceful than the awful chain hostels dotted around South America. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting San Augustin to stay here without any hesitation. I know I’ll be sad to move on from this wonderful hostel. I would happily stay here again if I return to San Augustin.

Dos lindas y confortables cabanas fabricadas en material amigable con la naturaleza, caracterizadas por su comodidad y excelente servicio; atendidos directamente por sus propietarios.Cuenta con amplias zonas verdes, donde usted puede despertar y disfrutar del sonido de las aves y el aire puro del este magnifico lugar.Se encuentra ubicada a 2 km y medio del caso urbano- via al Parque Arqueologico.

Reviewed By gloria stella tSon dos cabañas muy lindas y limpias, la mas pequeña tiene una cama doble y una cama sencilla, con muy buen colchón y cobijas calientitas, el baño es muy iluminado, grande. La cabaña grande es de dos pisos, con sala, comedor, cocina con nevera y estufa, cuenta con dos baños, en el piso de arriba tiene tres camas dobles igualmente con buenos colchones y cobijas, el balcón tiene hamaca, tienen un lindo jardín y manera de parquear frente a las cabañas. La noche estaba muy despejada y se observaba un hermoso cielo estrellado Quedan en la salida hacia el parque arqueológico, en un lugar muy tranquilo. Sus dueños son muy amables y te ayudan y orientan para que tu estancia sea muy agradable. Recomiendo comprar café orgánico frente a las cabañas, es super bueno

Perfect location in the desert - easy to organize even if you do not speak Spanish
Reviewed By bkkerThe double room with pool view is very comfortable, even if you do not see the pool. But the view from the terrace of this detached bungalow is even better - it goes over the desert and by night you can watch the stars. Everything is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. I was a bit worried about the communication and the organisation of the transfer and a guide as I do not speak Spanish. But in fact is was very easy. Sent them a WhatsApp with my requests and they made sure that I was contacted by the taxi driver (by WhatsApp). Pick-up and drop-off from / to the airport worked very well. If no English speaking guide is available (I do not know if there is one available in the whole area), just ask the hotel staff for Jason. He speaks a little English, is fun and very knowledgeable. And be is able to explain without a lot of words so that we had a great tour through the grey and red dessert. I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in Tatacoa.

In the middle of nowhere
Reviewed By 904agnescIt's a western-type of place with little wooden rooms on the edge of the Tatacoa desert. It's family-run and they have a couple of places within walking distance. Check them out because there's big diference in quality. The Dona Lilia-place is quite primitive and the mattresses have seen their best days and are full of flees. And you should not be afraid of bigger bugs because they're allover the rooms : spiders, scorpions, centipedes... No hot water, no airco and it gets scorching hot during the day. Bring deodorant !
