We will meet at the square Slovenski trg, from where we’ll walk into the old town. There we’ll start at Prešeren’s House which was once home to the greatest Slovenian poet. We’ll visit the Janez Puhar Museum – he was a priest who invented the technique of photography on glass and we'll discover why some people of his parish thought that he made a deal with the devil. After him, we’ll get to know Leopold Layer, the Baroque painter who forged money and then was redeemed by painting Mary Help of Christians in Brezje. In the castle of Khislstein, we will clothe ourselves into the lamellar armour worn by the military elite of antiquity and then we’ll descend to a 1400-year-old cemetery with an ossuary. In the underground tunnels, you will be able to experience the simulation of an air raid. Finally, we will come to Pungert, the place where the history of Kranj began.

Inclusions: Tasting of figs liqueur, typical liqueur from Kranj., All Fees and Taxes

2. Winter ascent to Triglav

Tourist and Culture Board Kranj

The summit of Triglav is more lonely in the winter than during the summer crowds. Winter ascent is a bigger challenge and is among the medium-sized winter climbs on our two thousand metre mountains. With the mountain guide, everything is much easier and safer.  Such a climbing can be affordable by mountaineers who do not have much experience for winter conditions. The ascent to Kredarica cottage through the valley of Krma is technically simple. From Kredarica to the top of Triglav is more demanding and dependent on snow conditions.

Inclusions: Local taxes, National Park fees, Driver/professional guide, Professional guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Private tour, All taxes, fees and handling charges, Breakfast

Exclusions: Ski touring equipment, Food and drinks, Accommodation

We also tried fig liquer and later bought a bottle at the Tourist office centre. I really recommend this tour because you can see/try things you otherwise can't :)

3. Ice climbing - The Sinji waterfall

Tourist and Culture Board Kranj

The Slovenian mountains turn into an outstanding natural scenery for ice climbing during the winter. With expert gudes you can experience the magic of ice climbing. The Sinji Waterfall is one of the most popular ice-climbing waterfalls in Slovenia. It requires a fit mountaineer and is still suitable for beginners of ice climbing. Highly recomended for ice climbing lovers. We meet in Kranj and continue to Jezersko where we start our adventure. Small and paceful village offers allmost private walk through beautiful nature as we approach the base of the waterfall. 4. Ascent to Triglav in the summer

Tourist and Culture Board Kranj

With its 2864 metres, Triglav is the highest peak of the Julian Alps and a symbol of Slovenia. It is featured even in the country’s coat of arms and on the national flag. There are many paths that lead to its peak and they have various levels of difficulty and require a different amount of time to walk. The easiest way to the top is definitely the Krma valley and past the Triglav Lodge at Kredarica. Two experienced mountaineers, Marija and Andrej Štremfelj, who is the first couple to climb the Mount Everest, will be accompanying you and they will make sure that you will safely reach the peak of the highest Slovenian mountain. You will enjoy breathtaking views on your way and the feeling of victory when you will be standing on the top will be something to remember for a long time to come. It is advisable to climb the Triglav Mountain in two days.
