Reviewed By Paul WWe stayed 2 nights, ideal rural location within driving distance of Freiburg & Triberg. Rooms had a balcony, rustic little bar area away from hotel, dining available inside & out. Good food, confirmed by many locals but be aware, Monday is their 'rest day' as is most of the local area....... However, we found the Grill Haus in town which must have been catering for the whole village, bbq & beer.... I had the most amazing rump steak for 9 euros. Thank you Ludwig & Tatanya

Reviewed By Hitman2007Booked in for a meal in advance. the food and the service was great, very helpful, friendly staff and really tasty food and all for a good price. It is close to the main road, but that wasn't an issue. lovely outside terrace area and a kids play area out the back. Ample packing at the side for both the hotel and restaurant.

Reviewed By NeleVannuetenWe stayed with the Wehrle family for 1 week in the Ferienwohnung Kirche. Upon our arrival, we received a warm welcome from the owners so we immediately felt at home. The house is located in a beautiful area where it’s impossible to get bored. It only takes you a couple of minutes to get to the main attractions: restaurants, family walks, swimming pool, playground ... Our children loved playing in the garden (slide, trampoline, relaxing chairs ...) and visiting the animals. The apartment is magnificent: the rooms are modern, spacious and spotless and the large balcony offers a picture perfect view of the surroundings. The owners are so friendly and do everything they can to make your stay unforgettable. The fact that they spoke English was also an added bonus :) We highly recommend Schiebenrotenhof, we can’t imagine a nicer place to spend your holidays in the Black Forest!

Great food, bad service
Reviewed By Andrea NWe have already ate here two times before for lunch. It was great. But last time we were shopping in Freiburg, than went to home and we arrived here 20:20. We went in, but none of the waitresses came to us to ask where could we sit. There were a lot of people there but have some free desks. We asked a waitress, that we would like eat, but steared at us strangely and said, ok, but we had to be quick. That wasn't so nice. Could we eat, or not? Is the kitchen open or not? What a "friendly" mentalism was that? So disappointing.

Simple pension with a very nice owner
Reviewed By Anikó ELittle pension with simple rooms, outdated bathroom and paper-thin walls, but the owner makes you forget all this! He went out of his way to make sure we have a nice time and prepared everythins we needed for our little daughter. We received an extensive breakfast with everything we could wish for. What's more, we received so much food we could - and were encouraged to - pack lunch for the whole family, including a huge fruit basket! Simonswald is a nice place to stay if you want to explore the Black Forest. It even has a very nice outdoor swimming pool nearby during summer, free for guest of the pension.

Reviewed By Simon WDreadful hotel. No reception unhelpful and rude staff. Room 10 had cracks in the wall, stained carpets & a dungeon like atmosphere. The owner agreed that the room was rubbish but was unwilling to move us. Shower did not main Tain temperature curtains failed to block any light and the rain on the tin roof made for an early start.
