Every guest had a enjoyable night

Gisborough Hall did us well 40 years ago for our wedding and they pulled out all the stops to make our 40 Ruby anniversary a night to remember. We had 30 guests and the staff Karen, Glynn and Abbie and the kitchen made the night wonderful. We had a number of our guests staying overnight and so did my Wife and I. The hotel is a very well run establishment and you will not be disappointed staying or dining here. We can’t wait to use it again. Five stars and a round of applause.

Nice food, good service.

The food was very well presented and tasted good. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and polite however one member of staff discouraged us from using the app to order from saying it was "only used because of Covid and would be discontinued soon", so we felt compelled to order through a staff member rather than given a choice. We actually prefer to order and pay using the app, especially now that you can leave a tip too.

Excellent meal

I searched for dog friendly places to eat and this popped up. Booked easily. It was quiet when we arrived and the barman was very friendly. My husband was happy with the choice of beers on offer, there was a great selection of food on the menu. I had curry and he had fishcakes both of which were excellent. The dog really enjoyed herself and so did we. We are already planning to go back.

A relaxing stay.

We stayed in one of the Bell Tents with our sons aged 10 and 14. The kids bed was a little small for our teenager. The kids still enjoyed playing in the woods and we all liked the fire pit. The log burner in the tent was a nice touch and helped take the chill away in the morning. However, I do think the toilets and shower facilities need modernising and improving. Our toilet lock didn't work, the shower was not what I would expect from a "glamping" site. There is a lot to do nearby. Saltburn Beach is lovely and we booked a surf lesson, we also visited Brimham Rocks, Guisborough Forest and Whitby.

If you have a sense of smell and like cleanliness don't stay here!

Family of 5, booked 2 rooms for 1 night costing £85. Few initial problems getting in which was sorted via phone call quickly. No cleanliness, in fact, Absolutely disgusting!!!Initial smell when entering property burns the nose hairs when u breathe! Either cat urine, moth ridden property orjust severely old furnishings n carpets that need to be ripped out! Dirt on all windows, sills, wood, floors etc, and darent sit on anything, the water supplied for a coffee was sat in jugs that had a dirty film on the plastic which looked like they hadn't been washed for months! The family room didn't have a lamp that worked, difficult for my 5 yr old to sleep without a lamp, oh and again the lamps were disgusting with something very suspicious hanging on the inside of the lamp! ?. The beds sheets felt damp, front room was v cold and that smell burnt your nose all through the night! Was relieved all woke up and hadnt suffered from allergies from what ever was causing the smell! Beds uncomfortable and didn't dare look at what we were sleeping on! Bathroom!!! Well!! Foul!! At 1.30 am I removed 2 small pieces of poo of the floor (cat size) from next to the sink and in front of the toilet! Was so dirty I didn't let anyone wash, just brushed teeth and came home to all shower. If you value you health, don't stay here!!!
