Noisy hotel

Reviewed By shcol

We stayed a Friday and Saturday in May, it’s best to avoid these nights if you want a decent sleep. The room is basic with a noisy bathroom saniflo and even when that’s not in use you can still hear the neighbours saniflo and extract fan. Saturday night is karaoke night and thumping music on until midnight, then there’s the noise of customers leaving the bar for a while after that. On checking out on the Sunday morning the lady at reception stated that we should have known about the noise from the bar as it’s stated in large print on the booking confirmation. This is NOT TRUE, there’s no reference to bar noise or Karaoke at all on any of the booking confirmation emails. She is probably the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in any hotel even questioning several times if I had contacted reception the night before which I had when i enquired how late the music would be blaring until. There was no apology from her so we left without breakfast to get home for some sleep before work. Maybe she didn’t get much sleep either!! There has been no reply to the two emails I sent over two weeks ago stating that we were misled when we booked the room. If we’d known there was loud karaoke noise from the bar we wouldn’t have booked to stay a Saturday. I won’t be back at this hotel again and would recommend that anyone who wants a decent nights sleep should avoid it.

Spotlessly clean. Comfy bed. Great WiFi connection. Fab breakfast. Fridge in room ( mega handy). Excellent hosts, Colin and Suzanne go the extra mile. I feel like I have known them all my life. Have stayed on 4 separate occasions in last month. Can’t fault the place at all. Great value for money. Highly recommended by myself.

Lovely Quiet Place to Stay.

This small independent family-run hotel is located in a quiet lane off the main road leading from Dunfermline Town Centre. The welcome was very warm and friendly. The room was very well appointed, comfortable, and well presented; the bed was extremely nice with lovely clean, crisp white linen. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and in particularly good order, the shower pressure was good enough but not great. The towels were very good. I did not have breakfast so cannot comment. The location is particularly good for the local hospitals, the Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway Station, and bus stops for local buses; all within walking distance. All in all, an excellent quiet, and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended.

They are not responsive at all

Reviewed By RuheeP3

I booked this through Airbnb, and after booking it, I tested positive for COVID, so I wanted to cancel my booking. But due to some technical reasons, I am not able to login to my airbnb account and I have been trying to call this guest house for so many days. No one has answered my call. When I made the booking, the next day this girl namely Marie called me and asked me if I needed anything. But then when I got tested positive I immediately informed her and asked her to cancel my booking as I was unable to. She said she cancelled the booking and I will get a full refund as I paid more than 700 pounds. But apparently, she did not cancel my booking and this is their way of extorting money from people. It is sad that people who travel from other countries loose out money like this and feel helpless. So the biggest lesson to learn is they are proactive when it comes to booking a place, but when you want to cancel the booking, they stop responding and helping you.

Prijs kwaliteit is goed. Gast heer en vrouw zijn vriendelijk en perfect Engels ontbijt gegeten. Het is een rustige omgeving en centraal in Dunfermline waardoor je snel in het centrum bent. Voor een B&B is het perfect.
