Val Fex

Reviewed By marcopolo111 - Cleveland, Oh

This is an easy walk to a very nice valley. There are several way to enter the valley, strait from Sils or making a loop through Marmore. In the former you can rent an horse buggy to take you up, in the latter you can go up by cable. The valley has a few old hamlets and several very good restaurants on the way. In early summer there are beautiful wildflowers.

Lake Sils

Lake Sils is beautifully set, nestled between two mountain slopes, picture/postcard perfect. It is especially stunning when the water starts to freeze over, and you see both water & ice against the backdrop of blue skies and white Mountains. Walking paths are available around the lake.

Nietzsche-Haus

I have not considered Nietzsche since high school but am culturally interested and do not mind philosophy. So on this rainy day I joined the tour and was absolutely fascinated! You sit in a small room listening to the curator who has spent his life on researching Nietzsche, providing an easy to understand and lifely account of his work. Will try to read one of the Nietzsche books!
