Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park

Reviewed By downwithsnobs - Edmonton, Canada

Enjoyed a lovely hike into Smuggler Cove. Well marked trail and enough points to view from to satisfy the average hiker. The only drawback is the apparent accepted norm for some people to treat the trails as their own living room. Please don't holler at each other when you're in the trails. Some of us actually go for a walk in the woods for some peace and quiet to enjoy nature.

Porpoise Bay Provincial Park

Reviewed By Scorpio-1001 - Canada

Wife and I wanted to go to the sunchine coast on a short camping trip. We chose Porpoise Bay provincial park. Park is on the ocean. nice beach, a couple of walking trails. there is play ground for kids.
They have flush toilet and hot showers. Washroom were ralatively clean and well maintained.
The sites are big and very well maintianed and clean. here is not fire pit in the endividial sites there are a few communial fir pit. but there is currently a fire ban. I asked ranger if i could use a propane fit pit he said yes.
The only reason I am not giving this park an excellent rating is because at about 7am every morning the float planes seemed to take off at that time on the ocean very close to the park. Go figure . If is quite during at night. but during the day there are a few float planes taking off. they are noisy if you are tring to sleep in.
I would stay at this park again. it is nice.

We're so glad we came across the Secret Cove Sail Tours website when planning our trip to the Sunshine Coast.
The sailboat was beautiful. We enjoyed hearing about the Islands and the history of the area from Rick and Julie. Their seamanship capabilities are impressive. They could not be better hosts. They care about the details and it shows.
We can't wait to return.

Quick, easy drive from Sechelt. This beach has tons of Driftwood! Such a nice, scenic place and is nice to spend an hour or so. The amount of Driftwood washed up on the beach is mind-blowing! Lot's of fun to explore on the logs.

Simson Provincial Park

Reviewed By Quillermo - British Columbia

Simpson Provincial Park is part of South Thormanby Island. There is North Thormanby Island which consist mainly of sandy loam and some excellent sandy Beaches. In contrast South Thormanby Island (separated by a near level sandy beach, referred to as the GAP) is very rocky with coves, fjords and inlets around its perimeter worthy of exploring preferably by kayak. One could camp at the "old orchard" which is a large flat area with a fresh water lake(not potable) maybe a hundred feet from the shore line and carry camping gear to a few level grassy camp spots. While the north island has houses and cabins around its sandy area and is frequented by many visitors, the South part or "the other side' is pure Wilderness. One feels away from it all, meaning civilization.

The Bricker Cider Company

Reviewed By Cucina58 - Sunshine Coast BC

This is a brand new venture on our Sunshine Coast but we are excited that they have opened to be part of our community.
Their space is warm and inviting and outside, if it is a nice day, you can enjoy sampling your cider at a picnic table and be surrounded by the quiet of this rural space.
They currently have 3 ciders to try and I am sure as they get established they will have more exciting things for us to sample. They don't have a kitchen where food can be made but they do have some treats made by a local cafe, Gourmet Girls, that can enjoy with your cider.
It was lovely to cyclists making this a stop on their ride of the day.
