We had a wonderful time we saw many dolphins and the guide took some extra time to spot a whale. We were early in the saison but because of the guide we saw a mother and baby whale.

We spent a few days at Cala Mia resort and decided to do a charter on the spur of the minute to pursue rooser fish. Cala Mia has a relationship with Come Fish Panama, which made it convenient to book. Our trip ended up with 2 roosters with one around 55 lbs, 3 big Jack Crevals, and multiple barracudas. This doesn't include a cubera snapper bite that was awesome to see, even though the fish broke off. The boat, equipment and crew were all good.

If you're in the Boca Chica area, make sure you catch the yoga class with Sue Murphy on Saturday mornings. It's really a special experience. If you want to see a beautiful spot on the estuary, be with nature, watch the birds, all while participating in a two hour yoga class, this is the place to be!
Sue leads a nice yoga stretching, breathing, vinyasa yoga class. Great way to start your day!
Also, if you want a private class (and also kayaking) contact Sue at Reel Inn in Panama to schedule time with her.
It's a great experience in Boca Chica Panama!

This makes my 8th or 9th trip fishing with Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge. This time was a little different in the fact that Shane had a group of clients at the lodge and the tuna were going off. With the big tuna being there, in my mind it made it a must go situation. Shane knows how badly I wanted a shot at a 200+ lb yellowfin and worked it out for me to stay at the Seagull Cove Lodge in Boca Chica and fish on his second boat Scandalous with one of his proven Panamanian captains, Tatin. As usual everything was taken care of from plenty of cold drinks, snacks and lunch. The fishing equipment and all other gear was in top working condition and as expected the tuna were there in force. We caught multiple fish over 100 lbs and my son, Max landed the biggest tuna weighing in at close to 180 lbs. I am use to everything being next to perfect when fishing with Shane so for me at this point I got exactly what i expect when I visit SFPIL. That is why I go back multiple times per year. If you are considering a trip with Shane, rest assured you will experience the trip of a lifetime. Thanks again Shane for the wonderful trip! See you guys in August.

We want to take you and your family and friends for a day of exciting adrenaline packed action. Here in Panama we have Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Sail Fish, Dorado (Mahi Mahi), Wahoo, Rooster Fish, and Cubera Snapper.

I've traveled around the world fishing and have made many trips to both ends of Panama. I landed on Boca Chica Big Game after being giving the owners contact info from a Captain on recent fishing trip in Hawaii. The owner "Chad" -is one of the best guys and passionate fisherman I've ever met! He use to fish out of Hawaii and has fished all over the world, but decided to land permanently where generations of his family are rooted and we both agree - This region is TRULY THE BEST FISHING in the world. I keep coming back to this region because it really is the most incredible fishing experience in the world..BUT- the only issue I've had in the past is that most of the boats I've fished in the region are center consoles and sometimes the language barrier. These guys are truly bi-lingual so no issue here and you're fishing in a boat equipped for big game...and nice to have shelter from a rain storm or AC if you want to cool off....I don't typically/have never wasted my time on reviews, but felt it was duty after this trip. I plan to bring the whole family on my next trip, so they can experience what my friends and I did. A trip to this region of the world is a once in a life time experience and the diversity in these waters is like something you would see on national geographic. I've fished the Dar Prov/ other side of Panama and in my opinion, this is the real McCoy! We caught more Marlin that I've ever seen on a trip (Blues & Blacks), Tuna, mahi, sailfish & took a day off catching roosters & your array of bottom fish. The fish are here year round, but my only recommendation is don't come in the rainy season...if you don't want to get wet. I've fished both. Highly recommend these guys. I've been fishing for over 50 years. Canada, the great lakes, outer banks of North Carolina, Gold Coast of Florida, The Florida Keys, The Gulf coast of Florida, Mexico, Barbados, Belize, Costa Rica and Panama. These guides were some of the best guides I've ever fished with. I went for a full day and also a 1/2 day and they had me on fish almost the whole time. These guys are GOOD! Can't wait to wet a line with them again! 2 Thumbs Waaay Up!

The fishing is absolutely fantastic but what makes the Panama Big Game Fishing Club an outstanding destination is its fantastic service, accommodating staff and a chef that could easily be cooking in one of the finest restaurants in New York or Miami.
Rooms are nicely appointed, beds very comfortable and the rooms are kept immaculate and clean.
We stayed a total of four nights and fished three full days. John the General Manager was very friendly and accommodating looking after every detail of our stay. We were met at the Panama City airport and escorted through Customs and Immigration. From there we were picked up by Aura and given a tour of Panama City and afterwards took us to a different airport to catch our flight to David. There we were met by Alex who drove us to Isla Boca Brava. Everything went like clock work both on the arrival and the departure.
Every single person that we met was friendly, courteous and spoke English very well. It was obvious that their number one objective was to make our stay enjoyable and rewarding.
As I said earlier the fishing was spectacular but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would have found such a lovely place nestled in the woods that offered world class food, service and accomodations.
If you are looking for an experiencer of a lifetime, come to the Panama Big Game Fishing Club.

We went fishing with Thomas for 6 days - inshore and offshore. Fish were not on the best bite but we caught still some nice sailfish, blue travelly and jack + many other species. His boat and fishing gear are in good condition, boat could be a bit faster if you have to go really far out (cruising speed 21 knots). Thomas is really friendly and listens your wishes. I recommend him if you are going to Boca Chica for popper fishing or trolling.
