Fabulous stay

We stayed over the jubilee weekend and had an amazing visit. The team were amazing, so friendly and helpful (Chloe & Lianne looked after us in the bar). We stayed in Taynton, overlooking the High Street, bed was comfy and we slept like babies! Would also highly recommend eating here, both breakfast and dinner (the lamb was fantastic). Our only con was the shower wasnt great, but the room made up for it. A lovely town with lots of local shops and plenty of picturesque walks (and pubs to visit on the way). We cant wait to visit again on our next trip to The Cotswolds.

Pleasant and peaceful

Very pleasant and peaceful stay at the Swan Inn Food is delicious and fresh. Service is great, staff are very friendly especially Donald who makes an effort to chat with the guests. Breakfast was delicious and again the staff were super helpful. Couple of things that stopped it being a wow stay. The bed in stable 1 is really uncomfortable and the pillows are like marshmallows. The room although clean in the main, there were cobwebs hanging from the spotlights and the skirting boards were very dusty. Also the waiting staff are keen to charge things to your room and we were not told that there is an extra service charge for doing this.

Excellent Stay

Reviewed By Karen S

A beautiful pub set by the river, its newly refurbished to a high standard, the bedroom was comfortable and very clean, the shower room was great, again clean with lovely hot water. A good choice of breakfast, we ate in the restaurant one evening, the food was tasty. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. A perfect location too for visiting the Cotswolds. Only minus was the WiFi signal (couldn't watch too much TV because of that) and signal for data not great either in that area of the country!

Disappointing. Tired and in need of updating. Black damp around the windows, uncomfortable bed. Very friendly …. And breakfast was good, but the room was sadly neglected. Just disappointing, Not worth the high cost if the overnight.

We also enjoyed an evening meal with government subsidy. Many thanks to all for making our short trip so enjoyable.

Truly exceptional

It is very rare for me to review a restaurant for being good - you sort of expect that if you’re paying for a service, it should, at the very least, be good. We visited the Angel on Easter Sunday for dinner. I am gluten intolerant and the staff couldn’t make have been more helpful. Indeed, the gluten free bread, so often like eating a plastic sponge, was quite simply the best GF bread I had ever had. Starter of hummus was delightful. The burger and steak were excellent and to finish off, the rhubarb crumble was lovely. Thanks to the staff at the Angel - well worth a trip just to eat with you.
