Convenient stay

Next to railway track. Train at 0430 otherwise quiet line. Close to museums and supermarkets. Short walk to down town. 5 min taxi to bus station. Ask for a room with a view so you don't get the internal room with no external windows and a pokey bathroom. Helpful host, noisy dog.

No Way!

Reviewed By luke47

So, I did not stay here, because even though I had a confirmed reservation, it is closed for the winter. Why was I not told this? It was actually a blessing in disguise because this place is very sketchy. It is not "steps to the beach," but a couple of blocks. There is no place to sit outside (hammocks or chairs). It was dirty. All this for $36 a night! You can do so much better than this in this village.

Tortilla Flats is Bad

Tortilla flats has awful food. The accommodations are terrible. The location is the only good thing. The owners son is incredibly inappropriate and will hit on any girl who walks near the bar. If you stay at the hotel don’t expect any nice treatment.

Great Value! Close but not TOO close to SJO - PERFECT.

Reviewed By LDeven

This is a small budget-friendly boutique hotel. Mapping software will take you to the wrong side of the street - call the hotel and let them know you're in the neighborhood so they can help you find it. They even have a room in a geodesic dome! Very unique! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They asked what we wanted for breakfast and we got exactly what we asked for - VERY pleased! This will be our go-to spot for before/after SJO flights since we live 3-4 hours away on the coast.

Consider it to spend the night

Reviewed By Luis Guillermo S

I asked for the family room. It is small, good enough for spending the night. Bed is comfortable, the AC works fine, the TV has cable but it is and old bulky and small screen TV. Owner is friendly. Would stay again.
